My son loves Star Wars....as i do and we had lots of Clone Trooper figures lying around that I wanted to make into a diorama. This was my 1st attemot at customising an action figure and I wanted a desert feel about the diorama to represent The Clone Wars and the brutality of it.
The Figures are from the Saga Legend range I believe and to make them look like they have been at war I customised them using the soft pastel technique to dirty them up. The poor Clone Trooper who met his demise had his eyes painted over to make them look shut and some blood added to his head. I also pierced his armour in the chest to make it look like a gunshot wound. The rock he is laying on looks stained from his blood.I also used a droid that I cut up, wetahered to make it look destroyed in the foreground.
The actual base is a wooden chopping board that I painted black with acrylic paint and then covered with polyfilla mixed with grit and sand. I painted it with sand coloured acrylic and dry brushed with brown paint and finished weathering with soft pastels. The rocks are cut and made from dry floral faom (the brown varity)I sealed them with watered down PVA glue to provide a seal and hardner then painted them in the same way as the base. I added more sand and grit to the top of the diorama to give some depth.
