This one was a labor of love...well, thats a lie. It was just a labor ;) . I actually had to make the body twice. I (regrettably) started the body before I received the head (which is a shrunken Hot Toys Wolverine. The buyer purchased it for me so I can't give a shout out unfortunately to the maker of it since I don't know who that is) The head was originally just a tad small (I sculpted the first body more in a comic scale using a traditional ML base and not the slightly smaller movie-figure scale. Lessons were learned...)
Second body came out better anyway so it worked out. Basically dremeled him down to a stump from the waist up and the knees down and resculpted everything. Is it a perfect match to the armor? Nah, but its close enough for me. I like to think I translated it into a more comic-y vibe without losing that realistic cinema detail. There were definitely a few mechanics to figure out in working the design of the armor around the ab crunch so it didn't break up the flow of the design nor would the articulation be hindered by it. I think I found a nice balance.
Really tried my best to up my game and go for full realism on the head since I wasn't able to translate the itty bitty textures in his armor (btw, to the talented concept and wardrobe people who overdesigned this damn armor...I hate you) A lot of the detail is sculpted and in between there are some details I simply painted in as I can paint a straighter line than I can sculpt one. Took about a year of on and off work (including the first body mishap) to finally finish this one so Im really happy and proud of the final result and hope the buyer enjoys it.
