Very cool. I never got them wearing robes considering how dangerous they are in the DnD universe, I always thought that those should be like the elders or something but this is what they should look like in the manual.

You're welcome. I guess they intended MMV to be the "Mindflayer Volume" or something, 'cuz they even stuck a Mindflayer head on the cover. Anyway, the coolest thing about the Mindflayer Thoon, in my opinion, are the Mindflayer Hulks, which are basically patchwork Frankenstein Monster Mindflayers. I was actually thinking of making one of those for my entry, but didn't. Here's what they look like:

You are awesome! I've been meaning to read up on the stuff with Thoon, but couldn't find what book it was in. Thanks man!

I kind of like them in robes myself, but they look cool in armor too. You should check out D&D 3.5 edition Monster Manual V if you ever get the chance, there's a large section (22 pages) on the "Mindflayers of Thoon" and their twisted creations--basically some Mindflayers traveled a wee bit too far into the Far Realm in their explorations and came back changed, worshipping some unknown god-figure/philosophy named Thoon.

Thanks man! I used the 3.5 Monster Manual art for the head sculpt and tried to give him a more 'warrior' look. I wasn't really digging the black dress they usually put the Flayer in,

Awesome job on your Mindflayer--methinks my Myconid is about to have its' spongy Shittake brains sucked out in defeat . . . Did you base it on the 4th Edition Monster Manual I artwork? Great execution!
