Robotech Figure Collector Topic - Added by HugoTiphares Thursday, April 24, 2025 ![]() Bart (Krusty the Clown Hat) Review - Added by RMaster007 Thursday, April 24, 2025 ![]() Of course, they needed a main family member to be the hook of the wave, and Bart fills that role again. It's the same sculpt as the first-wave Bart, but the deco is slightly different. His shirt is white, and there's Krusty's head on it as well. Krusty's likeness is printed on, with a clean result, and the paint on the sleeves and shoes is clean as well. Other than that, it's essentially the Bart we got before, so expect the same sculpt and articulation. The accessory is unique, as he has a Krusty hat with the clown's hair on it. It's big enough to cover his spiky hair and fits over his scalp firmly. It also reminds me of a plush by Nanco, except the hat on that resembled Krusty's head rather than a plain cap with his name on it. Bart isn't the only Simpson in the wave, as we get Abraham "Grampa" Simpson. At about 3" tall, I consider him a standout as he doesn't have a blank stare and smile like most figures do. He's in a grouchy mood again, complaining about today's youth or something like that. The portrait is great, and there's clean paint for the mouth and shirt, though there's a pretty obvious seam line between the jaws. His right hand is in a gripping pose while his left is a clenched fist, and it's not hard to tell Jakks wanted to recreate the "Old Man Yells at Cloud" scene. The torso looks a little slim from the side, but nevertheless, they did a good job with the body and outfit. He has a swivel neck, swivel/hinge shoulders, and hinged waist like usual for these palm-sized figures, but the legs don't go forward enough to sit down properly. Speaking of which, his butt is a slightly different color from the rest of the pants, much like Krusty from the previous wave. Why not just fully paint over the pants? Next up is Milhouse, simultaneously being in the third wave of both scales. Standing a little bit below 2 1/4", Milhouse doesn't look too much different from his larger counterpart, save for the fact that he can actually rest his arms at the sides, thanks to little indents in the armpits for the sleeves. Shrunken down a bit, he looks just as good, including the paint, with good work on the eyebrows. The seat of the pants matches the color of the rest of them, giving him a small visual plus over Bart and Grampa. Milhouse's accessory is a Squishee cup, which looks pretty good, but it has a little tab so it can be held. The Playmates line had tons of Squishee cups that nobody could hold, so kudos to Jakks for finding a solution to that. The third kid of this wave is Ralph Wiggum, who goes great with the other kids as well as his old man in the first wave. Standing a bit over 2 1/8", Ralph looks pretty good, but I can't help but feel the head shape is a little off. My other nit with the sculpt is the hair, as they did it as one piece glued to the scalp, which is what Super7 did with their Ralph, and it's not how his hair's supposed to look. It would've been better to sculpt the strands onto the head and paint them, and hopefully they'll do that with the 5" version. The body looks great, though there's a bit of a gap between the articulated lower half and the butt, and the shirt is a bit too bold in color. The paint on the collar and belt are fine, save for some bleed and slop. The iconic "I choo-choo-choose you" card Lisa gave him is included, using a sticker for the graphic, and it's very clear despite the small size. Rounding out the wave is Jeff Albertson, the Comic Book Guy and most likely to buy up all the Itchy and Scratchy figures to mark up the value on them. At 3 1/4" he's a big guy, more so than Chief Wiggum, but the torso is hollow. He's the best sculpt of the wave, and it's helped by how he bears his usual unamused expression rather than the neutral smile almost everyone else has. The sit-down waist joint works surprisingly well, being able to kick forward a great deal thanks to the hollow shirt, but I haven't tried seating him in the booth at Krusty Burger yet (I already know he's too fat for it). The few paint apps on him are clean, though he too suffers from the mismatched shades of color on the pants. I kinda wish Jakks would include accessories with the adults, because I could see this guy coming with a Radioactive Man comic. The third wave of the smaller figures is pretty nice, with great work on the sculpts and accessories, though paint could be a little better. The line-up is great as well, as it's nice to get some more kids, and who wouldn't want a figure of Comic Book Guy, the fat nerd nobody wants to be? Wave four is hitting stores now (I got Dancin' Homer yesterday), and I learned through a Facebook group that we should be getting up to wave six this year. Hopefully during that time we get more dioramas in addition to the recently revealed vehicles, because I would love to have the Kwik-E-Mart and Android's Dungeon with these figures. - 4/24/25...[See More] Tauroarz Public Profile - Updated by Tauroarz Tuesday, April 22, 2025 ![]() First Figure: Madrox 2008 Classic Marvel Figurine Collection Collection Size: 1 Currently Collecting: Anything related to Multiple Man or Cannonball ...[See More] Mayor of Halloween Town Review - Added by RMaster007 Monday, April 21, 2025 ![]() In contrast to the tall and slender Jack and Sally, the Mayor is short and chunky, but nevertheless is one of the many unique denizens of Halloween Town. He too is sculpted by Marty Henley and Kyle Windrix, but not Andrew Lawson, so I assume he wasn't needed for the portrait here. The Mayor is identifiable by his two-faced cone-shaped head, with a jovial expression and mismatched eyes on the front, and a gray-skinned melancholy expression sporting symmetrical eyes on the back. The head looks great, with the sculpt and paint being much closer to the movie than the 2004 figure, though comparing it to screenshots, the happy face could have better paint. The tall top hat is a separate piece that fits snugly on top of the head, and there's a clear groove around the scalp that indicates how deep it goes into the hat. Without the hat, the Mayor stands around 4 3/4" tall, more than half of Jack's height, but he is notably bulkier. The lower body feels solid, while the upper body has a hard plastic coat over what I believe is an underlying piece for the head and arms to plug into. They did a great job with the coat, right down to the black widow spider serving as his bow tie and the mayor ribbon. The coat has a subtle texture done by sculpting tons of tiny lines into it, and a somewhat rough edge as well. The paint is near perfect aside from the face issue mentioned earlier, with clean work all around, especially the pinstripe pants, and some wash on the coat and accessories. There are a few areas of bleed and some clumping on the collar, but those are the usual occasional blips from NECA. The Mayor's design doesn't lend itself to tons of articulation like Jack and Sally do, but what's here still works well for him. He has a ball-jointed head and waist, swivel/hinge shoulders, elbows, and wrists, and barbell ankles. It's about the same as the original figure, though that seemed to have hip joints, which would've been great here and allow for more poses. Still, the articulation allows for expressive poses and moves mostly fine, but the head is very tight for some reason. It doesn't want to turn easily on the ball, and I don't understand why when the head is supposed to turn around to show his other face. The wrist joints are painted, but it's skin tone over gray joints, and it peels off very easily. C'mon NECA, haven't I dealt with this enough with Turtles? The accessories aren't as plentiful either, but the Mayor has some neat accessories. The big book/ledger is the main piece here, with good paint and a few names written inside, but there's some glue residue on the back of mine for some reason. There's also a megaphone and ink bottle for him to hold, and speaking of which, the gripping hands can be swapped out for open ones, and they do so surprisingly easily. His plans for next Halloween are included, with three paper pieces containing sketches for decorations. Much better than the rolled-up blank paper the original came with. The clear base rounds things out, but it's the same one as Jack and Sally, meaning it doesn't line up with his feet. I was able to get him to stand without it though, but a better base would've been much appreciated, as well as the creepy duck the original had. The Mayor isn't quite as good as the others, but he's still good, and it's nice to have someone aside from the main couple. I'm not sure if NECA plans on doing more characters, and I assume it's more likely we'll get other major players like Dr. Finkelstein and Oogie Boogie, but if they can go as deep as they did before, I'd be happy to build up a Halloween Town for my collection. - 4/21/25...[See More] Custom submission review Topic - Added by Bedlam610 Sunday, April 20, 2025 ![]() ![]() Captain Coder - Monday, April 21, 2025 The warnings scroll off automatically after so many days.
