Will Turner, short for William Turner, a good strong name. He was picked up by the British from the floating wreckage of a ship at sea and brought to Port Royal. He grew up the blacksmith's apprentice, with his eyes forever gazing towards the Governor's mansion and Elizabeth Swann. After Barbossa and his mates make off with Elizabeth, Will won't wait around for the British to help. Putting aside his hatred of pirates, he enlists the help of the captured Jack Sparrow. Together they commandeer The Interceptor and take off after the Black Pearl. As they draw nearer their destination, Will begins to learn that his father wasn't the merchant sailor he once thought and that there is a little more pirate in him than he'd like to admit.
