Debbie Stevens (A Nightmare on Elm Street 4 - Dream Master) Cinema of Fear (Mezco) - Series 4 Rated 4.00 stars by Karma Jawa Mezco Debbie!
Not a huge fan of Mezco, but I just had to have this.
Debbie was a victim from the 4th Nightmare on Elm Street film. She was unfortunate enough to be turned into a cockroach. I guess Freddy was bugging her. The sculpt isn’t a perfect resemblance, but it does look enough like the actress. The body detail is good. There will be complaints about the minimal design, but it’s movie accurate. The cockroach arms are very detailed and Mezco really pulled it off in that department. They’re the most distinctive part of the figure, so it was important to get them spot on. They did.
This figure comes with some strange accessories. The first is the base. It’s designed to look like the roach hotel floor, as well as keeping this top-heavy figure standing. This is done very well, with...[See More]
Minoton 7th Voyage of Sinbad (X-Plus) - 8" Figures Rated 4.00 stars by Karma Jawa This was definitely a nostalgia purchase. Back when I was a child ‘Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger’ was one of my favourite films, and I was desperate for a Minoton figure. Minoton was the magical automaton Minotaur henchman of the main antagonist.
I only got into collecting figures about a year ago and became aware that this existed. After regular checks I eventually found one at just about affordable price.
There’s not much by way of packaging. A clear plastic bag with a label/booklet with images of others in the range. Articulation is minimal, but you get a pivoted head, waist, and arms. There’s also a spear that can be adjusted for height. It’s not much, but is just enough to give you some options to personalise it.
To look at most photos it looks almost gold, but in hand it’s...[See More]
Michael Myers (Ghost Sheet) Cult Classics (Neca) - Hall of Fame Rated 4.00 stars by Karma Jawa Received this yesterday. It’s second hand so no packaging review, and no pumpkin accessory either as it was missing.
It’s an older NECA figure, which means four things: It’s rare; it’s expensive; articulation isn’t great; and it’s obviously not going to be up to the high quality levels of contemporary NECA figures.
The figure itself is Michael Myers from the first Halloween film, and comes with the scene-specific ghost sheet he, erm, ‘borrowed’ from Bob. The sheet is removable with a full Michael Myers figure underneath. Articulation is minimal. The head, arm joints, hands, and feet move, but there’s no waist joint or leg joint movement. Myers is depicted in his classic look, complete with Shatner mask. The detail on the body is very good, but whilst the head isn’t terrible there’s...[See More]
