Billy Brennan & Pteranodon Jurassic Park III (Hasbro) - Humans Rated 3.00 stars by Wasacoolday This is an interesting figure. Though it still stands in an awkward position, like most of the JP III human figures, the left arm with additional movement possibilities is a plus. The figure is well painted, though the asymmetric detailing is a bit weird: why is he only wearing one glove and shoulder cap?
The answer lies in his relation to the Pteranodon figure, which can grab his left arm, so that it looks like Billy is holding it and looking at it, while the animal looks back at him. Sort of. It works nice when he’s holding him, but hinders playability options, since both figures are in an odd position when cut loose from each other.
The glider is nothing special. It’s little detailed and its colours are pretty dull. The glider can be attached to Billy’s back, but when it is, it...[See More]
Amanda Kirby & Spinosaurus Jurassic Park III (Hasbro) - Humans Rated 3.50 stars by Wasacoolday This is quite a nice figure, especially for JP III standards. Though the figure doesn’t resemble the Amanda Kirby we saw in the movie much, it’s still a neat figure with a good paint job. One of the few female figures in any of the JP toy lines, this girl is quite sexy and nicely curved.
The same cannot be said for the weapon. Like the Military General’s bazooka, this weapon is both ridiculous and doesn’t work very nicely. It doesn’t appear very realistic, but merely like some toy designer just let his fantasy work and the company being lazy enough to actually produce it. Like aforementioned bazooka, the missile can be fired by sticking it into the gun and pressing on its end. It doesn’t get very far, easily gets off course, and when you’re lucky enough to hit something with it, like the...[See More]
Dr. Alan Grant & Velociraptor Jurassic Park III (Hasbro) - Humans Rated 2.00 stars by Wasacoolday The paint job of Grant himself is fifty-fifty. Though his white shirt is pretty bland and little detailed, his green pants make up for it somewhat: they have two tears over them (as does the figure’s skin under the holes in his pants), making it appear Grant has had a near miss with some ferocious creature, maybe a Velociraptor. The pants also sport some darker green tones, giving them more realistic detail.
The weapon is rather lame: it looks pretty unrealistic and doesn’t really work. The figure can hold the weapon (the position of his arms seems to be made to support it), but when he does he can barely stand, since one of his legs is positioned in a forward move, making it feel rather clumsy. Also, when the weapon has the dinosaur clutched between its grabbing arms, it can hardly hold...[See More]
Son Goku (Super Saiyan) Dragon Ball Z - S.H. Figuarts (Bandai) - Basic Series Rated 5.00 stars by Dippergames420 Oh wow, it's been quite a while since I made one of these. Well, then. After around two years, I've finally made one of these again and on a figure I've wanted for years. Ladies and gentlemen, I got him. The San Diego Comic Con 2011 Exclusive Dragon Ball Z/Kai S.H.Figuarts Super Saiyan Son Goku. And my god, was the anticipation worth the wait.
First of all, the paint job is radically different from his original counterpart, donning a more "anime-accurate" look, and I must say it looks incredible. His hair has orange shading all throughout, which fades from yellow and into white. Is it intense? Yeah, it's decently intense, some may say it's a tad candy-corny, but I personally think it suits Goku well, because (and I'll say this a lot, but) if you go back and watch any key moment of Dragon...[See More]
Big Sonic Adventure (ReSaurus) - Series 2 Rated 3.00 stars by RMaster007 ReSaurus was a short lived toy company and began in the 90s, and shut down in 2001. Some of their licenses included Jeff Smith's Bone, Speed Racer, Street Fighter, Sonic Adventure, and Crash Bandicoot, and the latter two licenses can go for high prices on eBay and othe online stores. Years ago, I was lucky to find this figure, who in this case, is Big the Cat from the Sonic the Hedgehog series. I got him loose, so I won't being doing a score for the package.
Sculpt - ***1/2
The sculpt is very good, especially if you compare it to Toy Island's Big the Cat. Most of the body is plastic, but the head and tail are made of a softer, vinyl-like material. The elbow on his left arm is bent, which looks really nice.
Paint - ***
The paint job isn't too bad. Some smudges on it, but it's a used...[See More]
Dancing Snoopy A Charlie Brown Christmas (Memory Lane) - Basic Series Rated 3.00 stars by RMaster007 A classic scene from A Charlie Brown Christmas, this figure shows the lovable Snoopy dancing happily. This figure was originally released by Memory Lane in 2004, but was later re-released by Round 2 in 2006, with different packaging. I obtained this one at a flea market for $6.
Packaging - *** (yes I will be using the four-star system MWCToys uses)
Nice, big box for such a big figure. There's also a "try me" hole on the side of the box.
Sculpt - ****
This is a big Snoopy figure, and he's done in a great post. Arms out, feet moving, and joyous as can be. He's scultped out of hollow plastic/vinyl, and looks great. However, he's a bit wobbly due to the feet, but he still balances well.
Paint - ***1/2
The paint job looks excellent, and his eyes and grin are painted on.
Articulation -...[See More]

Bane Batman - Arkham Origins (DC Collectibles) - Wave 1 Rated 4.90 stars by Deaditor Bane was such an imposing force in this game. I felt he was a let down in Asylum having a short basic brute battle with him that didn’t really amount to anything that fun or challenging and lacked Bane’s skill as an intellectual strategist. This Bane beats you down so that you can’t afford to not completely focus your attention on this guy and discovers your identity and almost kills Alfred leading to a rivalry I wanted to see. I was excited to get the figure of him and he’s pretty great. There’s lots of detail and good enough articulation though possibly a bit more would have been welcome for posing he’s bigger than Batman, can hold him as if he were to break the Bat and his venom tubes can be removed adding to the way Batman defeats him. A must have figure if one of the most satisfying...[See More]
Firefly Batman - Arkham Origins (DC Collectibles) - Wave 2 Rated 2.00 stars by Deaditor Hands down the most irritating action figure I have ever owned. I really enjoyed Firefly in this game and the boss battle was so intense but this figure is so easily broken. D.C. direct have this weird obsession with using a clear plastic joint system for whatever reason and the plastic used breaks so easily. I’ve had an arm snap off and both legs so massive surgery was needed and even now I feel disappointed with the result. It’s become one of the rarer more expensive Arkham figures and sure it looks good but if you’re one to remove figures from packaging to pose or display them just be so careful with this one because it breaks so easily and that alone ruins the figures rating. I would find it hard to recommend getting this except for completionists/ MIB collectors or die hard fans of...[See More]
Deathstroke Batman - Arkham Origins (DC Collectibles) - Wave 2 Rated 5.00 stars by Deaditor Does it get any better than Deathstroke? Well it’s a near perfect figure. It’s super articulated, as he should be, has his handgun, staff and sword and the paint job is marvellous. One could see an issue in perhaps an inability to grasp a sword in two hands and the multiverse figures sword is possibly more accurate sword hilt wise (which is why I personally combined the two) but overall he’s just a really well done rendition of the characters who is fun to pose. He was a big part of the trailer and has a memorable fight that pushes Batman, though it’s a shame there wasn’t more than one and the buildup in Knight leads to ultimately a disappointment with just another tank fight no personal face to face duel. They went out of their way to make this figure more articulate than the rest and it...[See More]
