DeaditorA much better armoured hobbit in design than the Pippin version. The likeness is really good, articulation, detail, accessories and overall functionality of the figure. The button is hidden by the cloak that activates his slashing attack which if you’re going to include an attack feature this is how it should be done. He has a sword in a sheath, a shield on a strap and a removable helmet. Overall there’s not much to say other than it’s a decent figure and worth getting....[

DeaditorA decent looking and well articulated figure but the action feature lets it down. A big ugly button on the back that protrudes out of the back of his Elven cloak to make him slash is a terrible look and feature. The sword might be a bit small it’s hard to tell but in the film it looks longer and obviously sharper but it fits in his sheath nicely. The headsculpt is fine perhaps a bit too young looking, but holds his helmet well when he’s not chucking it on the ground as the Nazgul shriek. Overall worth adding to your collection....[

Cirith Ungol Uruk-HaiLord of the Rings - Trilogy (Toy Biz) - Return of the King - Series 3

DeaditorIt’s a pretty average Uruk with a pointless action feature semi good articulation but not great as no arm rotation and the original model comes displayed with a bow but instead you just get the shield and sword. I think it’s worth getting army building wise but I’d probably just turn these into isenguard scouts....[

DeaditorWhat is it with Helms deep aragorn figures. I think all of them have their issues and my favourite one is still the original one which also has the best Aragorn sculpt depending on the variant, but this one is still good in some respects. I like the paint applications being more accurate and the articulation in the legs is better but the head is terrible as he just looks super sad and looking in an unidentifiable direction which is off putting. That and his action feature arm has limited articulation. The sword is the worst being vinyl soft and bent and strangely he comes with the little knife on the scabbard which is pointless as he needs his Elven dagger on the back which he lacks. I think there’s some aspects I like but it’s not the best figure....[

Frodo (Light-Up Sting Sword)Lord of the Rings - Trilogy (Toy Biz) - Two Towers - Series 2

DeaditorI appreciate that this figure was made but I have issues with it. When you see a light up feature on say a Star Wars figure the lightsaber is Chunky but the blade itself that lights up is not so I feel with a larger figure the arm does not need to be this chunky nor the sword, which if you took an invisible prologue Bilbo figures sword could get away with using instead to keep the light up feature. There’s very basics articulation on this figure due to this light up feature and yet his left hand has some movement which makes me wonder why the Shelob Frodo didn’t copy this idea and have his right arm free and not stuck on with a sword unless it was originally intended to have a light up sword as well. The cloak is oversized and heavy and really there’s not much about this figure that’s...[

Battle Cry Uruk-Hai WarriorLord of the Rings - Trilogy (Toy Biz) - Two Towers - Series 5

DeaditorThe most sight after figure is by far this one. The battle cry Uruk hai comes sword a removable helmet, a pike in two parts and a torch. He is super articulated and sculpted well but his torso is obviously limited by his battle cry sound feature which does sound good but I’d rather the Uruk not have a rubber head and was less gimicky here. The paint job leaves much to be desired considering the uruks wore gunmetal coloured armour in the films with rust and decay mass produced and this figure is painted with a very light silver which is so inappropriate. It is worth having a few but they need a paintjob and to be honest it might be better to take the helmets and give them to some spare Uruk crossbowmen and give them swords as they are wel articulsted and bigger making them more imposing...[

DeaditorThis is a figure that is rare and elusive but one has to ask if it is indeed worth the purchase. Collector wise you’reaways going to buy it, but as a figure itself there is a lot of swivel articulation points and a lack of poseablilith limited by it design, but comes with a hammer and a sword that are detailed well and thenfogure itself looks decent. So for me I think this is a great figure to get and with the price nowadays it demands....[

Shagrat Mordor Uruk-Hai Warrior (Super Poseable)Lord of the Rings - Trilogy (Toy Biz) - Two Towers - Series 4

DeaditorShagrat is highly detailed, looks like the character and has super articulation. He comes with an Uruk blade and shield with the eye of Mordor painted on and I always go the impression that these uruks were ones who survived the campaign against Rohan and against Isengard. In the books I believe he is just an orc and whilst there are other uruks around it seems in the book Saruman just made some whilst Morgoth was the initial creator. I think this figure should have come with a mightily vest as his character arc involved him obsessing over the shirt and starting. The civil war break out in Cirith-Ungol, then possibly he gave it to the Mouth of Sauron or he was captured and questioned about the shirts significance. I think this is a very good figure and worth getting....[
