Transformers - Generations Reviews
Target Optimus Prime and Autobot Bullseye
Transformers - Generations (Hasbro) - Exclusives
Rated 4.75 stars by RMaster007
The Transformers franchise has been home to all sorts of unique collaborations and products, ranging from mash-ups with other pop culture licenses like Disney and Jurassic Park, to more unusual ideas, mainly incorporating Optimus Prime. Remember that Pepsi-themed version, or a 7-11 redeco of the Masterpiece, and how about one that turned into a mini PlayStation One? One of the latest in the continuing series of odd mash-ups gives Optimus Prime a Target-themed repaint. They've been a Transformers retailer for years with plenty of exclusives, so it only seems appropriate. There was a time when the Transformers line went windowless and plasticless, and the end result was some very attractive packaging. Hasbro decided a while back to go back to windows and trays, but that doesn't mean they...[See More]
Soundwave (Cybertronian)
Transformers - Generations (Hasbro) - Deluxe Class
Rated 5.00 stars by Customizer45
I just love the way he looks in both mode and can also create an boombox mode for this guy. His vehicle mode is very good and very tough and is no wonder why so many people are making Custom Blaster figures out of this guy. Also he can transform into a cassette mode and looks good even though it isn't mentioned in the instructions. His robot mode is awsome because it hints at the G1 Soundwave and looks just great to me. Overall I recommend this guy strongly because of the way he looks....[See More]
Thunderwing
Transformers - Generations (Hasbro) - Deluxe Class
Rated 5.00 stars by somebody1
"Thunderwing is so single minded and powerful that even megatron hesitates to get in his way. he is loyal to the decepticon commander but once he is given an order nothing stops him until the mission is complete. All too often that mission is the annihilation of a world that has defied the will of Megatron. A task at which thunderwing excels." Back of package. This is by far the most G1 style figure in the Generations line. It is such a basic figure that it shouldn't even have instructions. The transformation, detail, and the fact that this character has never gotten much love from Hasbro are all pluses. The joints are tight and the face sculpt is very expressive showing pure evil. The paint is good and is actually very comic accurate. I give this one a 5 out of 5....[See More]
Thrust
Transformers - Generations (Hasbro) - Deluxe Class
Rated 4.50 stars by somebody1
One of the two conehead jets to appear in the generations line so far. He features crisp paint, tight joints, and a very G1 robot form. The transformation is very basic as with most jet forms in the transformers universe. The main body appears to be the same basic body used in all of the Decepticon jets in this line and the older classics line starting with Starscream. The missiles are the same blunt headed ones unlike those in the original toys that looked like the lasers used in the comics and animations and probably were a major safety hazard. When you open the package the fan jets aren't attached to his body but it is a very minor thing to put them on. It is a very cool looking jet and very big on bringing back the feel of the original line. This is a great figure for nostalgia as it...[See More]
Red Alert
Transformers - Generations (Hasbro) - Deluxe Class
Rated 3.00 stars by somebody1
"As security director for the autobots Red Alert tries to keep his eye on everyone and everything. All the time. He installs cameras and security sensors everywhere, and keeps detailed records of the known movements of enemies and allies alike. Nothing escapes his attention and -to him-everything is significant. his paranoia keeps him constantly on edge but its paid off more than once by stopping Decepticon plots before they did any damage." Back of package. Not really much to say about this one. The paint applications are nice and he's fairly easy to transform but he's actually just a repaint of classics sideswipe and sunstreaker. They didn't make a new head sculpt or anything. The only thing they added was the light bar on his roof. Even the weapon they give him is the same. The joints...[See More]
Optimus Prime (Cybertronian)
Transformers - Generations (Hasbro) - Deluxe Class
Rated 4.50 stars by somebody1
This is a very nice addiction to any transformers collection although a larger version with the tron like (pre tron) lighting seen in the game would have been cooler. The figure is very much the Optimus prime people have been waiting for since the 1980s. A cross between his earth mode, the TFA optimus cybertron mode, and some retro 1940s pulp fiction truck is how best to describe his vehicle mode. The transformation is pretty smooth and issue free while in robot mode he is poseable. The gun they give him is rather lackluster and he doesn't come with the energy axe seen in the game. The paint is clean and crisp in his traditional G1 colors (watch out for a repaint as ultra magnus). Overall lit is a very nice figure and ripe for customizing as it is a bit too clean to have seen a lot of...[See More]
Drift (Autobot)
Transformers - Generations (Hasbro) - Deluxe Class
Rated 4.00 stars by somebody1
"Drift (Dorifuto) was not always an Autobot. In fact, he slaughtered quite a few when he was known as the Decepticon Deadlock. But Deadlock's eyes were opened to what the Transformers' war had become when he stumbled across a lost faction of neutral Transformers long since forgotten. He discarded his ruthless ways, abandoned his guns for swords, and changed his name and appearance. When Drift returned to the Transformer war to make right what he put wrong, he was a bot of few words and disciplined action." - From Transformers wiki Much like his retooled form that becomes Blurr he carries 3 weapons: a large sword and two smaller ones in his door scabbards. His paint is very crisp and the joints are tight enough that he can be posed fairly easily with his swords. His transformation is...[See More]
Soundwave (Cybertronian)
Transformers - Generations (Hasbro) - Deluxe Class
Rated 2.50 stars by somebody1
"Soundwave is one of the most sophisticated electronics and communications experts on cybertron. his body is heavily armored and shielded to protect the sensitive communications gear hidden within, where he stores every byte of information he collects. He is a living storehouse of secrets. No one trusts him, but everyone understands the data he holds could destroy them all." Back of package This is so far the weakest figure in the Generations line. He features his G1 weapons and head, and even an opening chest to hold the weapons, he by far lacks what made him a favorite of fans of the WFC game. Namely he doesn't have a 3rd mode that he has in the game that turns him into a radio like machine nor does he come with any of the "cassettes" he has in the game. Looking at him you wouldn't...[See More]
Megatron (Cybertronian)
Transformers - Generations (Hasbro) - Deluxe Class
Rated 4.50 stars by somebody1
"Megatron rebuilds himself continously. When the war first becan on cybertron he constantly applied new modifications to catch the Autobots unaware and under prepared. His spies are always on the lookout for new tech that will optimize his body into the perfect war machine. He is the bleeding edge of technology on Cybertron, and his enemies will pay the price for not keeping up." Back of package Looking a bit like the TFA Megatron's cybertron mode he is quite large and heavy for a deluxe figure. His cannon isn't attached so upon opening the box you have to struggle with that a bit to fit it onto the peg on his arm but once it is on there it isn't going to come off easily. The paint is good as are the joints although as with all megatron figures the cannon tends to throw off balance and...[See More]
Dirge
Transformers - Generations (Hasbro) - Deluxe Class
Rated 4.50 stars by somebody1
"there is a certain sub harmonic frequency that triggers the fear response in most living things across the galaxy. Dirge has used this frequency for centuries, turning his engines and his vocal processor to generate it. Fear accompanies him like a dark cloud, even his fellow Decepticons feel it. He enjoys the feeling of power he gets, watching other robots quaking in fear at his presence, or fleeing at the sound of his engines." Back of the package One of the two conehead jets to appear in the generations line so far. He features crisp paint, tight joints, and a very G1 robot form. The transformation is very basic as with most jet forms in the transformers universe. The main body appears to be the same basic body used in all of the Decepticon jets in this line and the older classics...[See More]
