Sub-Commander T'Pol Star Trek - Enterprise (Diamond Select)After looking exhaustively, and negotiating shamelessly for this figure, I finally got one and was both delighted and disappointed. The best part of this set is definitely the bridge section, however, it is also the part with the most fault. The fault being two fold. 1st, the console is exactly the same as the one for Reed. There is nothing different to give it even the slightest distinction. Although the scale and details are fantastic it is just a repack item with a different figure. The second most glaring fault is the sound effects. They are also identical. You don't even get T'Pols voice with this one. I found this to be an inexcusable infraction on DST's part. Not just lazy, but blatant disregard for the consumer. To give us a repack of the "basic" line action figure with a repack console station from the Reed bridge section and not even slightly change the sound effects chip is just plain stupid. It is a total slap in the face to the target market group. To add insult to injury you get less accessories with the action figure in this package than in the single carded version. With that said, it is really hard to not be overly critical, so in all fairness, I re-examined it and decided that the good out weights the bad when you consider the idea behind its creation. It really isn't terrible, you get a really good figure with plenty of articulation and pose-ability, clean paint apps and good details. Added to an accessory that really stands out among all other Trek action figure lines. The scale of both pieces works great together and connects with the other pieces in the line without issue. The bridge piece looks fantastic in the (albeit incomplete) diorama and is makes for a unique set up that no other line on this scale has ever done. Final note. Had the greed and distain of the folks at DST, not shifted their focus on what was important, these products could have made for one the best collector coveted lines in the entire Star Trek franchise. The bridge section concept was and is one of the most exciting elements to come around in a long time. It's a shame the Helm section wasn't allowed to be produced. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
