Hobgoblin (Amazing Spider-Man) Review
Hobgoblin
Amazing Spider-Man (Toy Biz)Looks like someone purposely decided to make slight annoying "mistakes", yet again. I'll get these out of the way before I rant about them in the main review. :) Hobgoblin comes with a cool metallic-lavender glider that attaches to a rolling smoke-base (to simulate gliding). The smoke trail on the glider can swivel around. Hobs comes with a (removable) plastic-leather purple pumpkin-bomb bag, but nothing fits inside it! Why have a bag if you can't use it! He also comes with a pumpkin-bomb, but it is sculpted onto the palm of his left hand. Why would they do that!? The good part is that you can twist it off with little to no damage to his hand. The most annoying thing (to me anyway) about Hobs is that his legs are too long. It's not like they're too long by just a millimeter, they are OBVIOUSLY too long, by about 1/4 of an inch. This problem goes away when you put him on the glider, but that's assuming the hips and knees don't loosen up, because when they do, you might as well throw that glider away; you'll never be able to use it again.

Spiderman gets all the fun villains...Hobgoblin stands about 6 1/2 inches tall, a little taller if you count his hood. He looks great! The arms and legs look slightly too thin (he was muscular in the Spiderman cartoon), but the scale-armor (like Captain America) all over makes them look cool. The detail is great in every aspect! The orange gloves/boots/shirt/cowl/cape are finely shaded and have all the stitches and folds to make them look very real. The hands are claw-like and hold the pumpkin-bomb well (he should have come with at least 5 pumpkin bombs! At least 100 fit in the package!). The boot-tips are curved backwards so they can hook onto the loops in the glider (they still look natural). The face looks just like the cartoon with big red eyes and those fang-like teeth. The face looks a little over-shaded to me. The silver buckle on his belt is the only thing that is sloppily painted.

Hobgoblin has all the standard Marvel Legends articulation, including a mid-section hinge. The head can move in any direction because the hood and cape are separate pieces, a very smart idea. Again, try not to get the leg-joints loose or you'll be VERY sorry. Even just standing him up straight will be a hassle if that happens!

Almost everything is different about them, the scales are rounder on GreenGobs, the arms are thinner, even the gloves, crotch, hips, shoulders, and boots are different, also Hobgob is like an inch taller.

Correct me if I''m wrong, but before any complaints are made about this figure, shouldn''t you take into account that the entire body is just a repainted ML 13 Green Goblin? If the sculpt seems off, it''s because it isn''t a Hobgoblin at all, right down the attached pumkin bomb. For customizers, I figured you all noticed that.

I saw this movie made in 85 that "starred" Mark Hamil, I wish I could remember the name of it. It was very Starwars-esk, minus the good script, cool aliens , ect. Anyway, It was prob a better move for him to do voice overs insted of more crappy B movies.

Thats right!!!
He made a living durning the 90''s doing vocie over work. Much of it on superhero shows.
He was also on iron man and the hulk as well.
He''s done a boat load of work that some people may have missed.

I''ve noticed his height also. He towers over my Green Goblin figure.

Yep, I figured the legs had something to do with posing him on the glider. The leg joints got loose on mine though so it''s impossible to get a good pose wihtout some divine intervention (that would be me) xD

I agree, his legs are much too long. It''s as if the legs were intended for a figure without the tall boots he has and then they added boots. It may also be so that he can better bend on the glider. You can get some pretty cool poses if you ditch that cloud and attach they glider to a flight stand.
