Colossus (Super Strength) X-Men - 2006 Series (Toy Biz)First of all, what the hell!? I don't know who the dorks are that decided to make colossus a 10-foot tall behemoth but they need to be shot and tranquilized and then shot again. Every time I saw Colossus in the comics he was a tall muscular guy, but nothing like this bulky monster! He looks too old, looks stronger than Hulk, and he's bigger than Thor! That's where I draw the line. If some Colossus fan boys wanted to make a Hulk-lossus then fine, but they shouldn't have been hired to make this figure. Now I understand why so many people make Colossus out of Sinister. That's it, review over! ...just kidding... Colossus stands a little under 7 1/2 inches tall and is built like a bull, nay, built like a semi, NAY, he's built like a frikkin' dinosaur. There's not much to say detail-wise, save for a few wrinkles on his shoulders and the grooves all over his skin. All the skin is metallic and the wrist-things he wears are metallic-red. The boots are weird. The feet are a lighter color than the calves and the knee-pads don't have the yellow trim that is shown on the packaging. The belt has lots of flash (excess plastic) and the X-symbol is crudely painted. They tried to shade his suit properly and failed. Also, there is no other shading anywhere on his body (I guess they quit after trying at the chest). At least the eyes and hair are neatly painted. And I must say, his ears are finely sculpted. Petey bends just fine. He has all the standard ML articulation including a mid-section hinge and shoulder-sleeves that let him carry things over his head. Someone wasn't doing their homework though because when you lift the arms all the way up, there is a large hole where the sleeves were. The elbows are single-hinged like all bulky arms. The mid-section hinge gives him some nice poses but it should have been a click-joint, like Beta Ray Bill's, to support his massive frame. The 'Lossus comes packaged with a "steel" I-Beam. It's flexible and holds its shape so it looks like Colossus is bending it. I'd say that's impressive, but come on, if Spiderman can do it then anyone can. I say make your own Colossus instead of buying this one. I see the ML Colossus looks about the same as this one so don't get that one either. And for the love of the Goddess, can someone give this guy some pants!? Sheesh! by Henchmen4Hire |
