Iceman X-Men - 2006 Series (Toy Biz)Every team has to have an "ice guy" and Iceman is the X-Men's. Iceman stands 6 inches tall. There isn't much to say about detail so I'll fill the rest of this review with tall tales of my childhood. In 1942, Adolf Hitler...just kidding...I think Iceman's body is the same as Silver Surfer's from the Marvel Legends line. So if you can't find a surfer then buy this icecube and spray-paint him with chrome. The hands are in a throwing or casting form, perfect for ice-shooting positions. The face is alright, no real detail since it's made of ice but you can definitely see the eyes, nose, ears, and mouth. The entire figure is made of clear light-blue plastic and then dry-brushed with silvery-white. I don't know what color it is but it looks like pearl-white with a little silver mixed in, it looks good but as always, different figures will have different shades of quality. The hands and ankles might have a little flash (excess plastic) on them and there are little crusty white things on parts of his body (is it excess dried paint?) but they can be lightly scraped off. And I must say, the muscles are too round for someone covered in ice, they should be more angular. Iceman has all standard ML articulation including a mid-chest hinge and shoulder-sleeves. All the joints are very tight and bend smoothly so you don't have to worry about them getting loose anytime soon. I think it's that silvery stuff that acts as lubrication or maybe they just didn't take off the mold release from the joints, heh. Icecube comes packaged with an ice-slide you can stand him on for a neat display. It's made of the same clear-blue plastic but it doesn't have the silvery paint on it. by Henchmen4Hire |
