Batman / Batgirl (DC Super Heroes (Mattel)) Review
Batman / Batgirl
DC Super Heroes (Mattel) (Mattel)[This is for Batgirl only]

I love the mixed designs these DCSH figures have, some of them look like they came right out of a cartoon while some of them are much more realistic. Barbara here has the animated feel but the gloves and boots are very detailed, as if they were real gear someone could wear. Also, the colors are very subdued, no glaring neon colors here, everything is easy on the eyes.

Babs is 6 inches of much appreciated plastic. This is a wonderful female figure, even her face looks like a woman's (which is sadly a rare feat to see). The figure is gray with yellow boots/gloves, a color-scheme I don't remember, but fits-in with the Batman figure's color-scheme. My major gripe with this Batgirl figure is that it feels very very fragile like the anorexic Blue Supergirl figure. I feel like a peg is going to tear at every turn, a joint pop at every twist! So far I've had no problems but it's still a horrible feeling thinking at any second you'll have to do some emergency surgery on her. I like the belt and the whole figure's sculpt in general, especially the boobs, wow, those things are perfect lol. It took me a while to get used to the face, because I'm used to seeing a softer Batgirl from the cartoons, but I've grown to love the intense look in this figure's eyes. Another gripe I have though is that the hair is more brown than red, how dare they muck with a redhead's hair! Blasphemy! At least the hands are semi-flexible so they can hold batarangs securely. The symbol on her chest is flawlessly painted and mercifully isn't engraved, making her that much easier to use for customs.

All basic articulation is there, the head is a little limited because of the cowl and hair though. Also, be careful with the ab-crunch, don't push on it too hard or there will be small white stress marks forming at the edges.

1/12 scale, though Mattel, like most companies, take a little liberty with it and don''t make the figures exactly to scale.
