RMaster007It's been a good long while since I covered one of Super7's Simpsons Ultimates, and with the next few waves showing up early next year, it's about time I got the last figures from wave one I needed, including the Robot Scratchy to my Itchy.
Originating from season 6's "Itchy and Scratchy Land," the Scratchy bot's design is executed much like Itchy's. The head is a blockier version of the cartoon cat it's based off of, with a protruding brow and tongue hanging out. The head is fully painted, which is a surprise for Super7, but the work is mostly clean aside from a bit of clumping on its lower jaw. There is an alternate head that looks the same, but the face can be removed to reveal the inner workings underneath. There isn't a ton of wiring, but what's there is neatly painted.

RMaster007As I said before, Super7 is giving us a lot of variety in their Simpsons line. From regulars like Krusty and Mr. Burns, to one-shots and lesser-known characters such as Hank Scorpio and Drederick Tatum, there's a lot to choose from. So far, there's only one "normal" character out now: the surly bartender Moe Szyslak.
Sporting a large brow, monkey-like nose, and overbite, Moe is far from a pretty face, but Super7 did a great job translating his crude design into three dimensions, far better than what Playmates did over twenty years ago. He includes two other portraits: one sports a big grin, and he's trying his best to hold it, and the other is a ticked-off yelling expression, a fitting reaction to Bart's prank calls. The yelling head looks a little odd, as the way the mouth is shaped...[

RMaster007Super7 sure has given us a pretty varied line-up for their Simpsons Ultimates so far. We're getting everything from B-listers to one-shots, and there's still no sign of Marge or Lisa in any form. Some many not like it, but I'm more than happy to get everyone, like this mechanical version of the murderous mouse Itchy.
The most the robot mascot looks like Itchy is in the head, and the sculptor (whoever that/they is) did a good job translating it into plastic. The bot has a blank stare, as to be expected out of theme park mascots, artificial or costumed. In the show, the three "hairs" on its head tended to be drawn from the side, but here, since they're doing the character in three dimensions, the hairs are right in the middle of the forehead. A second head is included, and at first, it...[

RMaster007Ever since its jump from mere shorts to a half-hour series, The Simpsons has been a merchandising juggernaut. Among the various items are a couple different toylines from companies like Mattel, Playmates, McFarlane, LEGO, and others, and in 2021, Super7 announced their acquisition of the license. The first wave of ULTIMATES for the show were due for release last summer, but as with most Super7 lines, they ended up being out a couple months late. They very recently showed up through Big Bad Toy Store, and Super7 should be shipping out direct orders soon, and I'm all the more excited to finally have one in-hand.
The packaging is the standard Super7 style: a brown cardboard box containing the trapezoidal box with slipcover inside. The box is around the same height as the TMNT figures, but a...[

Someone's in the Kitchen with DNA (Troy McClure)Simpsons (Super7) - ReAction Figures

RMaster007"Hi, I'm Troy McClure. You may remember me from such toy lines as World of Springfield, and… wait, that's it?"
The first wave of Super7's Simpsons Ultimates is showing up in the States any day time, and I can't wait. Until they drop, however, Super7 in the meantime put out some ReAction figures as an appetizer. They kicked it off with a wave of McBain figures, and now Troy McClure is getting the treatment, with three figures based off his various roles in-show. This particular variant comes from "Someone's in the Kitchen with DNA," which itself originates from season 9's "Lisa the Simpson."
ReAction card art ranges from "mildly attractive" to "absolutely stunning," and this one belongs in the former category. It has specific art depicting Troy in the various outfits he wears in this...[
