John Crichton, an astronaut from the planet Earth. On the maiden voyage of the space project known as "Farscape", John is sucked into a worm hole. Arriving in a distant part of the galaxy, John is now an outcast. Hunted by a militaristic group who blame him for the loss of a key commander, John is now constantly on the run. He has however, found safety in a band of fellow outcasts. Together they explore the regions of space, while trying to get John home, all the while trying to stay one step ahead of their many foes.
