How to repair a battery operated DINORIDER? in Figure Realm Comments and Questions by JudiBee

I have 3 battery operated Dinoriders - the Tyrannosaurus, Diplodocus and Triceratops. They've been in storage for 20 years. The batteries were removed when put into storage but they don't won't. It must be something internal? Has anyone successfully repaired any of these? Thanks...[See More]

Not familiar with these, but a quick search turned up this forum and topic http://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=650.0 maybe there's some info there that can help. Anyway, most of the time, battery operated toys tend to use fragile components, VERY thin wire with bad/weak solder joints, cheap plastic gears in motors and other moving parts which can still deteriorate over time despite how well they're stored. In general, the first thing I'd try is cleaning the battery contacts since oxidation of the metal can still occur. If that doesn't work, check to see if there are any loose or disconnected wires. Those are probably the two most common and easy to address issues, so I'd start there.

Thank you! I'll try cleaning the battery compartment first. They're in fine condition otherwise but it would be better if they still worked!
How to add more character profiles in Figure Realm Comments and Questions by GokaiWhite
Sunday, May 20, 2018
   [Edit]
I want to add more character profiles like that of Optimus Prime(duh!), among the huge list of Transformers characters on my mind. Can a user such as me do that? If not, is that a site manager's job?...[See More]

There's only a few of the bigger universes that we create the Character Profiles for, but Transformers has been on the list to do for a while. I'll start creating them. You should see them start appearing here:

As they show up, feel free to update any of the information and pictures.

Printing Checklists in Figure Realm Comments and Questions by ToySoldier
Wednesday, February 7, 2018
   [Edit]
Is there a way to print a consolidated checklist (like a spreadsheet) for various releases/action figures that has check boxes for tracking your personal collection? I use to be able to print these a few years back where I could include/or not include the pictures of each action figure by year/series/etc....[See More]

   [Edit]
Hello Realmers, I have customs that I want to post but the pics are from my phone. How or where do I adjust them so that they don't get so big when enlarged? I know where to adjust pics if uploading from a computer but theres only so much you can do from your phone.
Thx in advance! ...[See More]

See if the phone will let you shoot at a smaller size.

Some image hosting sites let you resize the image, or give you links to display the image at smaller sizes. Flickr is one of them.

Hey Dr.Nightmare, Thx for the response! I actually looked at my phone and there was a setting for that. I changed it so hopefully that solves the issue. Thx again for the help!

Finding Transformers characters? in Figure Realm Comments and Questions by crawatt
Saturday, August 19, 2017
   [Edit]
Hi, i've been coming to Figure Realm for years now to see and ID different figures, and only just now registered myself as a user. What an awesome site.

There's something I find a little weird that I want to ask about, though. When I go to Character profiles, why is it that I can't find any Transformers characters listed there? For example, I wanted to see all TF Sideswipe figures, but going to letter S the only Sideswipe I see is the G.I. Joe character by the same name.

Also, while I'm here: I can see that there is no section for Binaltech figures under Transformers. Why is this?

Thanks!...[See More]

I think maybe we just don't have any profiles for them. This seems to be the full list of Character Profiles we have, sorted by Universe http://www.figurerealm.com/characterpro ... n=universe

As you can see, there are tons of characters but only from a handful of Universes.

As a workaround, you can still find all figures of a character by searching the Checklists though. This would be all the Sideswipe figs we have listed http://www.figurerealm.com/actionfigure ... =sideswipe ...
Replying to Responses to Comments? in Figure Realm Comments and Questions by MrMonocle
Monday, July 31, 2017
   [Edit]
I've noticed that when I comment on a Realmer's figure I can reply to my own comment, but not to the response the Realmer gives. If I'm replying to my own comment, does the Realmer get a notification, or does the site treat it as a different comment entirely?

Seems a little confusing....[See More]

Yes, it's very confusing and unintuitive. I asked Captain Coder about it a while ago and he said something like it's like that to reduce the stress/workload on the server/site or whatever so it's not calling on a million responses at once when someone replies...or something. Obviously I'm not the tech guy lol.

I get the impression he manually codes everything, and possibly all the pages on the site are intertwined with his custom code, so it's probably a major project to ask him to "just add this simple feature here and there".

I'd definitely rather have a standard forum though. ...
Site Fees in Figure Realm Comments and Questions by Deaditor
Tuesday, July 25, 2017
   [Edit]
Hi guys Deaditor here. One thing I would love to do is pay a small amount to help keep this site goin and to get more features naturally, but as a student Doug a full time job to pay rent I really don't have much money as I receive very little finance. I was wondering if the creators of this site might consider an option of maybe £2 payment rather than £10 a month. I also believe this would encourage more people to donate to the site as we know it costs money to keep up etc. Just trying to help out a bit for one of my favourite sites as it's my sole site for posting my customs....[See More]

Sounds good to me. There could be a $2/mo package, and it comes with like 2 extra pics and submissions a day, and a Figure Inque write-up for one of your customs.

It has to be an amount that would make your contribution worthwhile though, because I'm sure there are fees Captain Coder has to pay, like Paypal. (.30 + 4%)

Of course, I don't make any important decisions around here, you guys would have to convince Captain Coder.
