The legs are actually less bulky than you might think at first glance. They have armor like flaps on the thighs that are removable. Same goes got the ones on the shoulders. Here is a picture of the thighs.

I was thinking about making it a slight re-imagination. Almost like if there was a Stark influence on the project. My thought was make it like the suit was what controls the size change, not gases or pills. I believe that this is going to be the route that is being explored on Arrow and Flash on the CW in regards to the Atom. The suit makes the man so to speak. The 18 and 31 inch figures are on clearance at my local Wal-Mart, which spurned the motivation to explore this as a possibility.

I put a few images up to help anyone who has not seen the movie yet. I'm brand new to this so my skills are very limited as of now so a scratch sculpt would be too advanced for me at this stage. Red Skull and Punisher don't have the waist pivot that other figures do. The waist is fixed, they seem to have s little more leg movement in comparison.
