Spider-Man Origins (Hasbro) - Series 2
Rated 4.00 stars by Henchmen4Hire
I'm amazed at how quickly (how soon after the Civil War comics came out) Marvel got this figure out. They must have been flooded with mail demanding this be made, and looks like it worked! Unfortunatey, this Spidey looks exactly like I expected, like a rushed job. This dude is freaky. Iron Spidey stands 6.25 inches, that's already way too tall for a Spiderman figure. And it's not like they can use the old "the suit adds a foot in height!" excuse like with Iron Man because Spidey's suit is skin-tight, not bulky at all. The suit looks good even-though the spider-design was tweaked slightly to accomodate articulation, a fair trade-off, especially since the modifications aren't even noticable unless pointed out.The body sculpt is appropriate (and original?), he's a lean, mean, shiny red...[See More]

There are so many great things to say about McFarlane's line of figures. Great characters, beautiful sculpts, and insane amounts of detail are just a few, but the huge drawback of all this goodness is the almost non-exsistant articulation. Why do so many people have a problem with this? Because McFarlane calls them ACTION FIGURES, not statues. Why not just call them what they are, mini-statues, goddess knows these figures are already priced like statues. Luckily, once in a blood-moon, McFarlane decides to make authentic action figures, with all the articulation we could ask for to get great action-poses. I buy random figures all the time, mostly as fodder for my customs, but McFarlane's stuff demands to be left alone. The figures are just so perfect that to chop them up for fodder is a...[See More]

DC Universe Classics (Mattel) - Wave 1
Rated 4.75 stars by Maelstrom
This us a superbly sculpted figure of the Penguin, dressed in his classic attire. The style he is sculpted in reminds me of Brian Bolland's crisp artwork on the Batman books. The paint job on this is also very nice, in spite of Penguin's clashing wardrobe, this does not come off as too neonish. Penguin also has some nice accents including graduating skin tones and a gold rimmed monocle. This figure is pretty well articulated (in the standard DCUC vein) for a character who looks like someone who is not very active or prone to physical exertion. This figure fits in very nicely to the current DC Universe line and is absolutely a must-have for die-hard or even casual Batman fans. Penguin comes with an opened umbrella with some kind of vague gun-like attachment (removeable) clipped on...[See More]

Wow, I had no idea there was so much quality control problems with these. I haven''t had any of these problems, but I really don''t play with my collection, I''m more of a displayer. Of course these days, I have so much stuff and so little space left that most new figures that I get go straight to storage. Anyways, sorry so much of you have had these problems, DON''T KILL THE FIGURE REVIEWER!

Hi, I''m new here too. I joined because I was really disgusted with my Penguin. It seems everyone''s Mattel toys are falling apart a mere few weeks after purchase. To think that their DCU toys are more expensive than Marvel''s! I''m from the Philippines, so the collecting of imported action figures is quite an investment here.

Hi everyone, I''m new here. This looks like a cool place.
That is really bad that Mattel made the Penguin''s torso joint like that. I have also had quality control issues with this line. My Red Tornado figure''s leg broke off and a Batman figure I have has a huge gap near his leg.

Matrix (N2 Toys) - Series 1
Rated 4.50 stars by NEOTHEONE
this is (no matter what everybody says) the best neo figure ever(besides customs) because it can be in all of the poses that mcfarlanes are in and it still has like 9 points of articulation. I just ordered mine on a website and got it a few seconds ago and I am very impressed with it. His head moves back and forth.(1pt) his arms turn up(2pts) his elbows move (2ptd)(they are not swivles!!) his legs move(2pts) and his knees move(2pts) defintely the best neo out there you must buy.(he also comes with awsome guns. and the only reason I'm giving it 4.5 instead of 5 is because neos skin is alittle to white but the detail is great for its time.(expecialy the cape .)You can pose it in the flip with the m_16 like mcfarline, you can pose it in the rain fight like mcfarlanes and you can pose it in...[See More]

This figure is almost as annoying as the man himself. He is wearing a God awful sport jacket and comes with his just as annoying dog Blue. In my humble oppinion this is the worst figure I have ever seen, I mean the only way to make it better would be to chop the head off and turn his thumbs up to a thumbs down. I am a huge Hockey fan which may be the reason for this review and its nature. Don Cherry may be a real nice guy in person...He isn't i've met him....[See More]

i was at a toy show once, and tod mcfarlanes pops was there. i talked to him for a while, not knowing who he was, and we were actually talking about this figure. i told him he should make variants with different jackets, he thought it was cool, but i dont think those guys are into that. anyways, i think this figure looks perfect. minus the articulation in most of the figs. my dad collects the hockey guys, mostly goalies, and i love the detail, but loathe the pose ability. don cherry rocks, he is however very opinionated, not unlike those who posted on here, but he''s a crazy old guy. anyways, the figure looks cool, i dont think i would ever get one, but i think he looks good.

Having never gotten into the Transformers craze is something I now regret. Any TF I now see that I like costs me some major cash to get. Luckily there are some still decent people in the world who are willing to help new fans, like me, get some info and get my hands on these little pieces of history (and in some cases HUGE pieces!) This being my first TF review, you'll have to forgive any odd/inaccurate terms I use, like calling a Power Matrix the "shiny doo-hickey". <img class="rightfloat" src="http://www.figurerealm.com/Galleries/transformersclassics/Prime4.jpg">Optimus Prime stands ready for battle at over 6 1/2 inches tall (fully transformed). Out of all the Primes I saw, I think this one looks best. He has a sleek look while the others I've seen look much bulkier. Now, I'm not sure...[See More]

Never trust a guy who has a first name as the last and a last name as the first! Reed Richards stands 6 inches tall (a little taller if you count his hair) and wears the nifty and more modern blue/black/grey version of the F4 suit. The "4" symbol on his chest is embossed and neatly painted (remember, paint-quality always varies from figure to figure!). Also there are cool neat little "4" buttons on the boots' cuffs, a nice touch of detail! I like how the black boots/gloves/collar are flat black, they look nice in contrast to the glossier blue plastic of the body. The grey areas also have a matte-finish and are neatly painted for the most part. The only part where they squiggle a little is near the inner-shoulder but it isn't very noticeable. The head-sculpt is amazing. The guy who played...[See More]

Marvel Legends (Toy Biz) - Face Off Sets - Series 1
Rated 3.50 stars by Henchmen4Hire
A few Daredevil figures have been made since the Marvel Legends line came out, and this Face-Off version seems the best, but that's not saying much :( The Blind Devil stands about 6 1/4 inches tall, which is okay, but some people are inevitably going to complain "Why is he taller than everyone else!?". The head-sculpt is pretty good, Murdoc has a smirk on his face, but the little dimple on his chin is way off-center, the chin looks deformed! The part of his face that's showing is neatly painted flat-flesh but the border with the mask is a little sloppy. There are two small horns on his head but they are rounded off and look less-threatening. The main body is made of red plastic while the gloves and boots are made of darker-red plastic and the whole figure is shaded nicely. Why do I...[See More]

I'm actually reviewing the version with the Cat-head. On first look I thought he looked just like a good piece of fodder, until I opened the package: This is a very nice figure. The areas of articulation are plentiful and well placed. I always like when a figure can bend their feet at their toes and their hands at their fingers. The sculpting on this figure is very well done. The detail on his fur and his costume are great. The paint work is very well done with straight lines on all the lined details and with shading and highlighting done appropriately. The "X" on his grenade belt is even straight. The detail on the face is great too. His eyes just pop out and almost have an intelligent quality under all the cat fur. He comes with 2 accessories (or 3 if you count the cord around...[See More]

DC Universe Classics (Mattel) - Wave 1
Rated 5.00 stars by Buzzy_Fret
I can't believe Mattel offered Darkseid's son / nemesis Orion in the first wave of the new DC Universe Classic (DCUC for short) line! And I'm ecstatic that they did. Orion has been a DC favorite of mine since I was a young 'un. I distinctly remember owning the very first issue of Jack Kirby's New Gods and the image of Orion sailing through the stars on the cover made a huge impression on me. Mattel has done an incredible job on this figure and the 4 Horsemen design is extremely accurate. Orion doesn't have a lot of details but what he has they nailed. If this is an indication on how the future figures of the DCUC line are going to be made then I think Mattel is going to give Hasbro ML a lot of competition. Maybe Mattel will get the Marvel License next. <img class="rightfloat"...[See More]
