Need help painting rubbery material on Storm Collectible Sub Zero

Posted in Custom Workstation

I'm wanting to paint the blue outfit to be lighter shade and it's made of a thin, rubbery material. I tried a folk art craft paint, but it doesn't seem to stick very well(almost acts like a wash when applying). I read liquitex paint might work, but was wanting some opinions

Primer isn't necessary, just sand the piece with a fine grit sandpaper and wash and dry again before you paint.

Thanks for the info. I don't know much about how to prep other than washing with soap water. I read that primer doesn't work too well on that type of material. Is there one I could try?

I'll assume you've properly prepped the pieces you're trying to paint? After that's done I'd suggest trying Angelus acrylic leather paint. I think it was Dr. Nightmare who found it and shared the info in a previous topic. Anyway, even though it's designed for leather, it works well with rubbery plastics since it remains flexible after drying. Do a search on eBay, plenty of sellers, it's inexpensive and comes in a variety of colors.
