Power Rangers Hasbro

Posted in Action Figure Chatter

I am huge power rangers fan and I see a lot of potential that hasbro could have on the toy line and I am curious as to how others feel about it?

For me I hope they go the marvwl legends route.6 inch figures and there could be a wave that has build a figures and the BaF could be villians like zedd or goldar.

What's everyones thoughts on it?

Have any links showing the figs? Was this announced recently?

In general, I wish the BAF concept would go away, and just buy the BAF figure as a standalone. If every figure in a wave is amazing then I have no problem buying the whole wave to get a BAF. But that's not what happens, especially not with Hasbro. They put out one or two great figs and the rest are filler, reusing bodies to save money at the same time they keep raising prices to keep profits rising.

I think I'm too idealistic for the toy business. I wish I knew more about how it works, what the costs are, but everyone is tight lipped about that stuff. So I have to assume they're ripping us off and want to stay hush hush about it, making me cynical. But I digress.

Since we know Hasbro is going to be reusing parts heavily, I'm interested to see what their generic suited sculpts will look like, to see the customizing potential. I'd like to see new ideas for joints too. The recent Black Widow figure released with the bike is awesome, it doesn't just look like painted meat. The Spiderman UK was also a step in the right direction. I like almost all the cinematic Marvel figures, despite not giving a fig about superhero movies. I just like good looking figures.

I'm not a fan of the Legacy PR 6.5 figs we got, they have weird proportions. I think Hasbro will do better. And since the Rangers are supposed to have a uniform appearance, I may not mind the parts reuse as much.

Also, I'm listening to an interview with Gregory Mitchell, and now I understand why the PR figures and merch over the years has been so kid-quality. Power Rangers is viewed as a show for kindergardeners while other shows like Kamen Rider are viewed as the "big boy" shows. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TmtpkWM2HNA
