Hi everyone, long time, first time. I'm trying to make a custom set of figures for a diorama based on James Gurney's "Dinotopia" book series. I'm trying to stick in the 3.75" scale for the sake of being able to work with dinosaur figures. I'm currently looking for parts to make a set (male and female) of Skybax Riders, namely, William and Sylvia. I'm mostly looking for torsos that would be uniform with each other, relatively at least.
I'm considering using Bastilla Shan Upper Arms and Lower Legs, other parts I don't know about. Parts needed (Lower Arms, Thighs, Torso, Helmet?). I'm a relative novice to the wide world of 3.75" figures, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
If you ever expand to other characters star wars is another good route. You better post these when your finished!!!! Now my heads exploding with thoughts on these, I would have died for dinotopia toys as a youngster!
If you're just going to paint the details, like that character with the orange/red shirt, there are a lot of GI Joe figures with removable gear you could look at. They tend to have nice sculpted shirts and pants under there. Some of the ninjas have those leg wraps, like Storm Shadow figures.
Here's a gallery of the figures http://www.yojoe.com/action/
2007 is when the modern era started.
Here's the best picture I could find of a female Skybax Rider, it's essentially the same design (outfit wise).
