Hello. I have posted in here a few times and really grateful to find a community that is so ooen and heldful.
I have tried and tried my hands at customizing figures but each end with tragic loses.
So I am curious are there people willing to do the customizing themselves? What woulf be the going rate if i offered all supplies with a list and pictures of what I wanted done?
Love your quote, it's a real kick in the teeth, Haha. I've cut my prices in half or a lot of the times more since I started, same can be said about my self-esteem. I always think I'm worth what people will pay me for, which is way less in public and a little better online
I still think I'm mediocre, but even so, for a figure that requires a ton of sculpting and elaborate paint, I'm gonna charge at least $100 for labor. It's just not worth the time investment otherwise. I wish I could bang out a custom in a few hours, but weather, cure times, dayjobs, etc. rarely let that happen.
I was holding off on writing a rough price guide to commissions because the community is so small that any friction it would cause could destroy the very fabric of reality and bring about Custom Ragnarok, but I think it's time lol

Don't take my prices as the standard though, I charge less than most because I need the money.
The 50 starting is for Labor, that's the only thing I make money on. Really basic/simple jobs can be cheaper. But yeah, I get requests where people want basically a full sculpt and paint job and they're like, Oh, yeah, can you do it for 30 bucks? And make it look like Hot Toys? rofl
I'd rather go dig holes for 80 bucks a day. Which I also do.
Parts cost whatever the parts end up costing. If I happen to have parts I can use, I just tack on like 3 bucks for a head or hands or whatever. Sometimes no charge if I just want to get rid of the fodder.
I forget where I said it before, but I find that people price their customs based on where their self-esteem is at.
