Removing Testors Acrylic from figures.

Posted in Custom Workstation

Hello all, I've looked through the tutorials ( I'm new at this ) and haven't found anything on what to do when you mess up. I've been doing eyes on a figure and I'm a perfectionist and I haven't been fully happy with the applications. I was using acetone to remove and start over but on the 3rd time it actually seemed to eat away at the plastic and left craters on the face. Is there anything to use that will remove the Acrylic paints, but not compromise the integrity of the figure? Thanks in advance.

Edit: I'm tired of typing

Anyone have pics or first hand experience with Simple Green?

Yes, thank you guys. I ended up using the alcohol inks blending solution. Works like a charm.

what Dave said. also, if it's something that can be thinned with water, try a soft toothbrush (dollar-store type) and warm soapy water. And then you can use alcohol to remove any residue.

You can soak it in Simple Green and/or wipe off with 90% isopropyl. NEVER use acetone on plastic.
