How to repair a battery operated DINORIDER?

Posted in Figure Realm Comments and Questions

I have 3 battery operated Dinoriders - the Tyrannosaurus, Diplodocus and Triceratops. They've been in storage for 20 years. The batteries were removed when put into storage but they don't won't. It must be something internal? Has anyone successfully repaired any of these? Thanks

Not familiar with these, but a quick search turned up this forum and topic http://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=650.0 maybe there's some info there that can help. Anyway, most of the time, battery operated toys tend to use fragile components, VERY thin wire with bad/weak solder joints, cheap plastic gears in motors and other moving parts which can still deteriorate over time despite how well they're stored. In general, the first thing I'd try is cleaning the battery contacts since oxidation of the metal can still occur. If that doesn't work, check to see if there are any loose or disconnected wires. Those are probably the two most common and easy to address issues, so I'd start there.

Thank you! I'll try cleaning the battery compartment first. They're in fine condition otherwise but it would be better if they still worked!
