Painting hair of female Marvel Legends figures

Hello,

I wanted to check with those who have experience painting the hair of female marvel legends figures. I am working on a custom with hair that has a few strands which hang down in the front (formerly a Dagger figure). I was planning to cut the hair back a bit and adjust the style so that the paint will not crack if the head is turned to the sides. Then I decided to consult the forum to see if anyone has experience with painting hair like this. Will the paint crack if the hair is not adjusted so as to avoid the shoulders?
