Is it wrong to reseal figures before selling them?

Posted in Action Figure Chatter

I bought a big box of unopened figures at a garage sale last week. Nothing spectacular. I want to sell some of them on Ebay. The bottom/side of a couple figures is open. Not enough for the figure to be taken out, just wear I guess. Is it faux pas to glue it together before selling? I collect baseball cards and I know trying to fix the condition of them is a big no-no. Is it the same with figures?

I agree 100%. If the buyer wants to reseal them, you might as well let them do it themselves. I would just list them as the bubble partially detached, and let the buyer decide. Sounds like a good plan. Good luck!

Thanks for the replies. I wrote in the description that some of them were unsealed on one side. Better to let the buyer decide what they want to do.

Yup, as long as you're completely honest about the condition I would say it doesn't matter. Personally I wouldn't bother gluing them, it's not gonna raise the value any.

I agree completely. When I buy something that is sealed, its for collecting or resale purposes and if its been opened and resealed, its not mint anymore, its loose.

depends on who is buying it. if they intend to open the fig, then no it does not matter. if they are buying a carded fig, and intend to keep it carded, then yes it does matter. I would be completley up front about that to whoever you sell it to (especially if selling through evil bay). if I bought a carded fig and later found out it was re sealed I would definetly question the seller, and probably not buy from again. now if the seller mentions that the package was re sealed, then it is on the buyer for making the decision to buy the item.
