I think the loss of interest was burnout, they were doing one every two weeks for a long time. I bet if they brought them back quarterly it'd be successful.
Always. I did see the interest slowly dying off as they went on. The worst one I saw only one guy submitted for a contest. He took all three awards that year.
I don't know why they were canceled but then again I joined kinda late..toward the end of the run on that.. It was fun voting..it was basically like a blind critique showcase. I especially thought the themes were imaginative.
They were cancelled because not enough people were entering the contests. One of the last ones had only one submission. Guy took all three medals for that one. I entered a few of them myself and they were fun. I just wish there was a way to get them back.
I'm going be honest, in the years of competing in contests against my peers it helped me become a better customizer. It also raised my creativity levels and imagination. I think contests is a asset for customizers for showcasing their work and knowing where they stand as a artist. Its a way of improving your skills and raising confidence when you place well. Basically, competing on this site was fun and also a learning process. Hopefully it will be back
@VicVeinz Same here, I was always challenged to improve myself. It got to the point where I held off on submitting customs until a contest was announced.
