Repair tip needed for DCUC Darkseid

Well this is disheartening! My DCUC Classics BAF Darkseid broke! The centerpiece that attaches his hips to his torso is broken off. Krazy Glue doesn't seem like it's going to be enough. Is anyone familiar with a way to repair it? All I could come up with is to Dremel some holes in both the hip and torso, insert pegs, and Krazy Glue them in place. The figure is too heavy for just glue to work. Damn, I didn't know this thing was so fragile!
