The showdown figs are good for posing with underscaled items, like Galactus, Sentinel, or the X-Jet.

The showdown figs are pretty nice. They are GiJoe scale and the articulation isint bad. The best so far is The Green Goblin

I finally got a chance to see the hasbrow legends at my not-so-local comic shop and Hulk looks okay, he's frikkin huge though. Her looked so cool! He was all neatly painted and had an awesome grin xD

And for some reason I feel like collecting a few Marvel Showdown figures...I know I can't afford to but still...

I'm not ver fond of the Planet Hulk. The local wal-marts have the Origins figs but not the ML. Most of the ToyBiz Lengends are on clearance for $5 at Walmart here. K-mart here has green armed Hulk. I piked up a movie Mr. Fantastic for $1.50.lol I like to make a Spider man in an FF uniform. I bought Ironman this past saturday. He only looks good with a wash in my opinion. Herc is the only other one I want but I am tempted to build that Annhilus (sp?).
I need to hit target and check the clearance aisle.
Does TRU have the ToyBiz figs on clearance? What about theh Show Down figs?

Maybe they made it with the green arm for a while and realized they were making them wrong?

I just got back from WalMart and saw that they had restocked their ML and all the Hulk figs had silver arms...This makes no sense...my brain hurts.

The TRU here got in the Hasbro MLs and the Hulks they all had green arms!

Maybe the factory in China ran out of the silver plastic and it was a Friday afternoon and there was a big gathering at the karoake bar so the dudes on the mold injection machine just said f-it dude I wanna go sing Barry White songs and try to hook up with Mary Chong tonight. Grab the tube of green and let's crank these out!

There are a lot of guys selling ML's with inflated shipping prices. You see one that looks like a deal and then you see the shipping is $16 and no description of their shipping method. You just know they're going to ship it USPS parcel post for $4 but you're paying like it was next day. Grrrrr...

A lot of guys do that with coins. Low Buy it Now price and crazy shipping. As if it costs 153 dollars to ship a coin.

Got one for ya, guy on e-Bay was selling both Iron-man figs, mask on, mask off for a buy now price of $0.99. Shipping was only $35.00...What a deal

I've come to the conclusion that people that are marketing the Iron Man figure with his mask off as a Variant are idiots. The figures are EXACTLY the same. They just used a different clam shell to hold him in! It's like saying a figure is a variant because part of it fell out of the shell to the bottom of the box. This doesn't make your figure twice and valuable!

end rant.

I'm modifiying him anyway. The silver arm is just a regular arm. It doesn't have the metal lines like in the comic and it has veins on it. I'm also giving him his Roman loin cloth thing, sandals, and a big ol' mace.

maybe they ran outta silver plastic then.

I think the silver arm is actually cast in silver plastic. If not, they did a really good job of getting it painted cleanly even in the shoulder joint.

Damn I must live in nowhere'sville, which is weird considering we have the University Of FL here which has won Nat'l Champs for Football and Basketball this year!

But I digress - I went to my Target and they were totally out of the Hasbro MLs! WTH; did they only get 1 box!

I still don't think the Hulks w/ green or silver arms are planned variants. All the pics I've seen from Hasbro show him with a silver arm. I think the silver spray ran out and Hasbro ended up with a huge batch of green armed error ones out there.

The Hulk is the best looking one in this series IMHO. On closer inspection I thought the Beast was one of the better looking figures in this series. Not the way I think the Beast should look - I prefer the good ol 70's - early 90's bouncing blue-eyed Beast that jumped back and forth between the Avengers and the X-men. The new cat face that they mutated him into is just stoopid.

Lol, I really wanted that Beast too, I'll have to keep looking.

Just got Beast and Hulk I don't know if Beast looks so much like Kelsey Grammer as he does Gregory Peck as Capt. Ahab, and Hulk...not so much Planet Hulk as he is the Hulk figure I've been waiting for. He's just a cool peeved off Hulk. And his arm is green.

I just got one with a silver arm. I wish they had stuck to the comic pictures and given him that Roman loin cloth thing and sandals. I think this calls for a custom!

Thursday, January 11, 2007
sure. I'll check it out. I was target today and they only had like 7 Planet hulks (all green arms..lol) and one hurc. I picked up 2 piderman orgins. Iron spider and Dr. Octo. Like the octo a lot (same as old good one but with better tenticles and silver gloves and boots) and the iron spider has the worst paint aps ever, no waist swivel and A REALLY POINTY CHIN. but I will fix all that. Still not as good as my custom one though.

Hey Kyle, I was wondering if I pm you next week some time for the hasbro iron man if you could scoop me one becuz that's the only one I can't get. the reason I say next week is becuz I'm going on vacation and might be able to find one there. So, I will hit you back like, tuesday or something. Thanks.

Ps. if you could get a herc to that would be sweet as hell.

Weird??? The one I bought has green arm and all the others at both targets and both walmarts and TRU are ALL both green arms...lol.. Looks like you got lucky not me..lol.. I have seen at least 100 of that hulk and none had silver arm.

The pic for the Planet Hulk on the Hasbro site shows him with a silver arm and there is no mention of a variant - ex. they actually show the variant Iron Man when you open the link to the Iron Man figure - and the 2 I bought at Target both have silver arms.

I think thats the varient NOT GREEN ARMS. All I have seen and own are about a hundred Normal green arms. never a silver.

Snap 'em up fast! His left arm is supposed to be silver like it has chain mail on it. I think it's not a planned variant just a factory error.

All the hulk's I 've seen have green arms.

Not much of a variant.

I saw a guy on eBay selling a Planet Hulk he was trying to pass off as a variant because the left arm was green instead of silver. More like it was just a factory error.

I still can't believe how ugly the Emma Frost head is and Banshee is just hideous. Good fodder though!

I did see the two different packages for Iron-man. The one I got, he had the helmet on( to hide the ugly me thinks. ) but it's the same figure. The only main difference I saw was you have the choice of sharing his horrably malformed face with the rest of the shoppers or not.

Im not sure either what the dif was with iron man. I got the varient too. and I did see both. And if you look real close to the non variant, you can see under his helmet and it looks like it comes off too. but maybe not. and RATTY did you see the one I did? My red wasn't screwed up so I didn't need to paint it, THAT SUCKS yours was messed. HIS HEAD is rediculously stupid huh?

The Target here had them today and I picked 'em up. I got the Iron Man variant - what's the difference, does the regular Iron Man's helmet not come off? They didn't have any of the regular Iron Mans on display - actually found the var. on a shelf at the end of the aisle where somebody had laid it down.

I just got the new Iron-Man and I'm gonna have to repaint the whole thing, all the red metallic on his back is scratched up and replace the head because...damn it he looks like an old school Romulan or something.

my take exactly. and did you notice the superior plastic too rat? I like hoe they take the time to cast a lot of different colors and not just one then paint it. all the flesh tones are cast flesh. pretty sweet. joints are rad. like SOTA toys.

They have not arrived in my town yet. I imagine it will be another week or 2 before they are in the stores here. Grrrrr.

Thanks for the suggestion Kyle but your auction will end for waaaaay more than it will cost for me to buy the figs brand new once they finally hit the stores here.

Besides, I like the thrill of the hunt.

I saw some of the Spider-Man Origins like Rhino and Lizard and they look pretty damn similiar to the ones ToyBiz put out. I had high hopes for the Rhino but it don't look too good. the Spidey figures I've seen didn't look good at all.

We don't have the Hasbro ML figs here in FL yet. I'm only interested in The "Planet" Hulk and the Annihilus BAF. I guess the others will go into the fodder pile.
