yeah, I cannot wait for these to come out! Not only are they great figures to have, but they also up the ante for customizing parts!!! I really like the Witchblade! I hope that if this line continues that we get some other famous (and hot) females such as Danger Girl, Gen 13 and Fathom!!!

you mean the statue? Yes that is dc, but you know todd is down for a one shot statue cuz it still promotes himself for spawn batman books. maybe he hates marvel cuz they fired his ass. ..lol..

Guess that is true. Curse you Todd! But wait? Then who is making the spawn/batman set? DC toys is making that. Wow this is strange. Maybe Mcfarlane just likes to hurt Marvel. Nah Mcfarlane has awsome dudes but suck when it comes to just how poseable they are and thats how Marvel could help!

its all about who owns the license at the time the figure is made. artist would partition their name to mcfarlane back then just like they do now. erik larsen owns the rights to AP and soley has the right to let make whoever make that fig. but when it comes to making spawn, mcfarlane owns the rights to him. so instead of going the route of larson and heving his Not so main srtream character made (like AP) he built an entire franchise around his main money characters like spawn, which "spawned" the creation of McFarlane toys CO. so when you own your own toy CO. (which is one of the basterds main source of income) based around a handfull of charaters like spawn, THERE IS NO WAY your gunna let another toy CO I.e. MARVEL TOYS have any of that sweet toy profit. now people like larson and mike allred (madman) who lives right by me..lol..can deffinatly benifit from this.

It would be like stan lee letting todd make wolverine. its all bul$$$$$$$$hit

Wow. That figure wasn't so bad for an old Mcfarlane dude. I wonder if the new one will have other arms. So I get it Mcfarlane can use other peoples work but other people can't use his for a new action figure.

I'll see what I can find on the net but I have him at home. Ya gotta remeber Super Patriot first appears in in Savaage Dragon if I recall so he is actually should be an Eric Larson creation. My fig has poney tail of "real" hair and has two interchangeable arms. None of the arms have elbow. joints. He only has neck (side to side), hip, knee, and shoulder. He may be able to turn at the waist but I don't think so. The detail was was good for the time but like most Mc Farlane offerings of the day poor articulation....

Also if you were a Spidy fan back when Larson was drawing him, he snook in a cyborg character in the begining of the Revenge of the Sinister Sic story line who is almost a dead ringer for Super Patriot. You could tell he must have had this character in his head for quite a while...

EDIT: Here I found a link to one...

http://gofigureactionfigures.com/product4450.html

Yep he has a waist joint, and though you can't see the pony tail it backe there and it's solid white hair. Alos if you note on teh side of the package "Eric LArsen's Super Patriot". Yep that settles it. He belongs to Larsen.

Mcfarlane made a Super Patriot? Have a link with a pic of him? But if Mcfarlane lets Marvel make Super Patriot why not let them make a Spawn figure? Marvel Spawns would sell good.

because McFarlane has his own license for spawn and nobody has the rights.

The pics in the ToyFare article are pretty cool.

It'll definitely up the fodder supply too. There'll be even more ways for creating other characters.

Yeah I want that Pitt BAF.

quote] rearely does the detail (or even the ugly face-sculpt) carry over to the final figures for sale...

Well there is that rare chance that because they're doing other peoples stuff that might actually have to take the time and care about what they're producing.

I wasn't saying that they were going to be bad. I like the idea of them having to start from scratch.

prototype look or not they will look cool I think. Wave one id going to have THE PITT as the BAF. 10 inch tall. with a cool line up too. Like madman (that I made in the unsung heroes contest) ripclaw, dudge dread, and savage dragon

Was that supposed to be a downer? Because that sounds like nothing but greatness to me. No more frikkin' BP bodies.

But yeah, rearely does the detail (or even the ugly face-sculpt) carry over to the final figures for sale...

VariablePenguin -
Sunday, January 14, 2007
See... now they can't reuse their old molds so they have to start from scratch. It's like if they had started Marvel Legends in 2007 they would have to compete with the stuff from now. They have to do the detail and everything that we are used to now and they have to do it with new scuplts instead of recycling their old crap.

Also, none of those figures are going to look that good. Prototype detail never holds over into production.

I sorta feel the same way, TORN. I love the idea but damn! look at that awsome new sculpting. Couldnt they bust out a JIM LEE Cyclops that looked good?

I read this too and I was excited at first, but then I was kinda pissed. Toybiz had the Marvel license for how long?...They kept throwing crap after crap of generic wolverine and Captain America at us, No Jim Lee Cyclops, No other artist specific characters. Now they let marvel go, and pick up the indys and all of a sudden Jesse Falcon can give us every Costume from every artist that ever drew Judge Dread?..WTF!!..They can keep em.
