Hasbro Marvel Legends Wave 2 Out?!

Posted in Action Figure Chatter

I was just perusing MLs on eBay and I ran across this auction for the Young Asgardian / Wiccan figure and in the picture with that figure is the new Hasbro Thor! The dude even says "New Hasbro Wave 2 Thor not included in auction."

WTF!!!

No one is auctioning any ML Wave 2 figures on eBay yet!

I just saw this series for the first time at mass retail last night here in Canada! The comic shops have had them for a while (and I got my set off e-bay when they first came out *God bless the Internet* ) but last night I saw them at Wal-Mart. The whole set was there except for Thor. $12.92 Canadian was the price which isn't that bad considering Toys R Us is selling ML for $14.99 and LCBH for $15.99! It was an exciting find for me and I would have picked up Quicksilver and Xorn to use for fodder but my wife gave me the evil glare because it was our son's first birthday yesterday and we were there shopping for him.

...........but payday is coming this Friday

Yeah it seems thor and wolverine are shortpacked for right now. I have seen every other one in mass numbers.

See, this is a wave I would have bought nearly all of if it wasn't for the inflated price. Over here after the first month or so, Marvel Legends tend to only cost E10 - Wave 1 here still costs E15. This is not good, at all. I can buy 3 Toybiz Marvel Legends for the price of three Hasbro ones, and the Hasbro ones aren't as nice.

Epic Fail on Hasbro's behalf.

Well, I finally found some of these buggers. I saw them at two different places, KB Toys and a comic book shop. Neither place had a full shipment though. The only one I didn't find is the one I want the most...THOR!...where art thou? I passed on everything except Shulkie. I just wasn't interested enough in the others, except maybe Juggy...kind of wish I would have went ahead and picked him up just for scrap parts. Wolvie looked O.K., I just don't need another one and what I could use for spare parts looked pretty generic. Shulkie is O.K. except there's no bicep/shoulder articulation, and the ball-joint articulation at the hips could have been done different. Also, she has those Barbie hands...you know, the kind that can't hold anything or do anything except wave. Otherwise, good sculpting and nice female form, unlike the other females Hasbro has done, she has a pretty face too.

TMB speaks the truth!

Like I suspect, I'm pretty sure there's a huge oil conspiracy going on in the world, ever since we first started using oil. I'm starting to suspect that oil is actually a naturally occuring substance in the earth, not limited to decaying dinosaur fossils. How many times have we been in an "oil crisis"? And how many times have we magically found another pocket of oil to pump from?

Everytime someone comes up with a new engine that runs on hydrogen, water, or corn oil, some major car company or the goverment itself pays off the inventor and hides away the blueprints so no one else can use them. It's all about making money.

But whatever, that's another topic...

Dude! 12 bucks!? Freaking KB, they sold us the old MLs for 5 bucks just so they could jack-up the new ones' prices xP

The Indy MLs are supposedly going to be around 8.99...

I was recently spotted lurking at my local KB Toys. They had Xorn and Movie Juggy. You may be asking "TMB?..did you pick them up to add to your fodder box?"And I would reply "NO!!! They want $11.99 each...I can see $7.99 or even $9.99... But I will not pay $11.99 For something I will most likely break within the first 10 minutes of owning it. If this is what the price is gonna be from now on, I may as well go back to Customizing 5" figures. While im at my rant....can someone tell me why, if oil prices are affecting the cost of our little plastic men...Can I buy a 12" GI Joe style figure at TRU for $6.99? and the ML's are $8.99?....I can only imagine what the Marvel Indy figures are gonna cost.

Im really not liking the Movie figures in the assortment. The Juggernaut looks goofy(Jean dosent look too bad but I've only seen pics) I realize Wolveriene sells but we've got like every costume now. I would like to see them redo some harder to find figures. Another Deadpool, a Juggy repaint(I've got a comic where his suit is blue). NO MORE IRON MAN!

Yep the head on Ult Wolvie is down right ugly! I thought the body is really well made. Xorn is really nice except that when you take the helmet off Magneto's head is a little on the small side. Nice sculpt on it though.

The X3 Juggy I saw looked kinda goofy. I'll probably get one for fodder but he ain't a keeper in my opinion. I want She-Hulk's hair for fodder but can't think of anything else I'd want from her.

I want a couple Thors - 1 for a keeper and 1 for a custom I have in mind.

Man, traveled over 20 miles to Walmart and all they had was one lone Ultimate Wolverine. The dude looks like an emaciated Captain Ahab Maybe not that thin, but still...I just want the Thor to fix and the Juggernaut for my comics.

Found them in San Diego, on the weekend of April 1st. Bought Thor and Xorn. But went back the next day for Juggernaught and quicksilver and they were gone, and series one was back it is place like nothing happened! I haven't been able to find them anywhere else since then. This is the same wal-mart that was selling the Spider-man 3 toys three days early. So if you're ever in San Diego the college grove wal-mart has some wierd stuff going down in the toy isle.

They were only five bucks here at our local wal mart, so I bought wolvie, xorn, thor and jugs, but when I went back to get the rest they were 10 again.

I just picked up a yellow Jacket and Xorn the first 2 pieces of blob I have seen here in Utah.
Both are very nice their hands have no articulation but the sculpting is good as is the rest of the articulation
As for Blob so far I have both legs and my only disapoinment with him thus far is he has no knees
However as disapointing as that is.
The sculpt would make knees kinda of hard and he would only have partial mobility in the knees due to the sculpt so I am fine with it. Blob has a new ankle setup which I haven't figured out how to discribe and has toe articulation. Giant balljoints is how he connects to the main body. So so far so good.

Um apparently they're in the USA now - there are several on eBay today and they are all shipping from USA addresses.

Where did you find that out? I went to the Hasbro ML site but couldn't find any info on when Wave 2 is shipping.

Thor is definitely going to be the big seller, to be honest he's the only one I really want. I just hope his helmet is removable. Hopefully after they're out we'll have a Barbarians II contest.

I think it was on marvellegends.net. I forget but I know it's May.

At least this cape looks removable so you can give him a better one if this one's to heavy.

Monday, March 12, 2007
Yeah I think he's the best looking figure of the Wave 2 line.

I see that he's on a sofa but I still wouldn't be surprised if his cape was too heavy and pulled him off balance, that'sthe way the 2 ToyBiz Thors are. TB finally got smart when they did Beta Ray Bill and made his cape long so that it actually helped to support the figure.

He's leaning because the guy displayed him on a couch (?) so the footing is unsteady so propping him up on the backboard is less of a hassle (I guess, LOL)

I think that Thor is going to look bad-ass, just needs a little shading to bring out the details! And by shading I mean a complete paint overhaul

Also notice how the Hasbro Thor is not standing but leaning... I hope that Hasbro isn't going to throw another Thor figure that can barely stand like the 2 from ToyBiz. Must finish Thor custom!

Hasbro Employee - That was the same thing my wife said. Could be, he does state in his auction that the Wiccan is from ToyBiz, the BEST line of ML's.

Maybe he works at the central warehouse for Target or Wal-Mart and has opened up a box.

Maybe that dude is a Hasbro employee? Lol...

Man, I was waiting with high expectation for that Thor but it's not even shaded! WTF! It looks like a prototype or something.
