Legendary Heroes By Marvel Toys

Anybody got the dope on when the first Series is suppose to hit the stores? I saw one web store that was taking pre-orders and claiming the estimated arrival was end of July. TRU's web site says beginning of Sept. I can't find a new web site for Marvel Toys - just the old ToyBiz one with nothing updated.

Is there going to be a Witchblade/Darkness two pack? Think I heard there was.

I really can't get into Witchblade(way too serious) but the ideas and character designs are pretty awesome.

I've seen a few pics in magazines of most of this line, so I don't have a very clear representation of them.

Nah this figures are top notch. PITT is of course the highlight, but Marvel Toys did a amazing job, beating their own old ML series with sculpt and paint. I do hope this line continues into the future and even better would be Marvel Toys getting the ML line back and doing both lines. Ahh I can dream

Pitt is the only reason (IMHO) to collect any of these figures.

This past weekend, I hit 3 local Walmarts. Each store had the same selection: the PITT BAF series, including the Dragon and Patriot variants, and Judge Death from the Monkeyman BAF series. No 2 Packs to speak of at any of the locations. BTW, the Savage Dragon variant is kinda cheesy. His wife-beater is not even sculpted on the figure. It's just a paint app. But man, I'm tellin' ya; that PITT BAF is INCREDIBLE!! Well worth the dinero, mein fruend!

The WM I went to had some of the Judge Death figures, which are apart of the Monkeyman series.

They don't seem all that rare, but then they might be easier to find cuz they're just hitting the stores. One of the WMs in my town got 'em - they were on an end cap near the toy dept. - not in it but near it! I saw a few Judge Death Var. plus got 2 sets of the Pitt series - one with the Savage Dragon Var and Super Patriot Var.

Anybody know when the Monkeyman series is supposed to hit? Is it next month?

I have yet to find the Conan / Wraal 2 Pack.

I can't find any info about the variants for these. The reason I mention it is because I just found a Judge Deat clear variant at my local Walmart yesterday. I'd like to know the production run on these so I can figure out how "rare" these variants are.

Thanx!

It doesn't look like they're selling too hot on Ebay. The only one I'm actually interested in is the Conan. I'll probably have to buy it online though.

Okay... I believe my town is like the toy black hole. There must be some kind of weird vortex / dimensional portal thingee here. I went to one of the 2 Wal Marts in my town to see if they had the Legendary Heroes line yet - since it seems they're in everyone else's Wal Marts already. I walked the aisles, no end caps, no displays, nadda. Then out of the corner of my eye, on an end cap, hidden behind some Transformers, like a terrible secret - 1 lone Judge Death Clear Variant. I grabbed it, asked the 2 WM employees that were in the toy section if there were anymore and their reply was; "Nope... that's the only one we got." WTF!!!! Then I notice it's for the Monkeyman series! This isn't supposed to be in the stores yet!!! I went over to the other Wal Mart thinking maybe someone got it there and exchanged it but the aisles were unfortunately clear of the new Marvel Toys line....

It's like a ghost story.

That's a hard question to answer since different toys have different sized pegs anyway, even within the same toy-line. Sometimes you get lucky and the swap is easy though.

Maelstrom -
Wednesday, August 1, 2007
As for swappability, the Ripclaw is a "Black Panther" style base figure, and the Witchblade seems awfully close to the "Psylocke" body. Everything else seems to be totally new sculpts however that's not to say that you couldn't swap the pieces out.

Are these figures parts swappable with toybiz ml?

There made from the same company so would it be possible to boil and bop one of these and a toy biz ml and swap arms legs and stuff?

I picked up 5 of the Pitt series figures yesterday! ($9.96 at Wal-Mart), and today I found a Superpatriot... The Pitt BAF looks FREAKIN' AWESOME! I'm keeping my eyes peeled for the unmasked variant Superpatriot. Also got a Judge Death and Monkeyman leg, but that is all I could find of that series. My rundown on the figs...(I ranked them with stars just like the custom contests)

JUDGE DREDD RULEZ!-4.75 stars!
Pros:
1.This is a very faithful adaptation of the original 2000AD character before DC mucked it up
2.Marvel Toys didn't make ole Joe too steroid-ripped and musclebound.
Cons:
1.Dredd's helmet is painted a very flat (stealth-like) blue, I would have preferred highly glossed.
2.Although there is plenty of well-hidden articulation, Dredd is a little limited on poseability, but that's just because of his gaudy and bulky shoulder pads
3.Lack of billy club.

JUDGE DEATH RULEZ!-5 stars!
Pros:
1.Dead-on (or should I say Death-on) Likeness.
Cons:
1.Need a monkey to go with my monkey leg.

WITCHBLADE!-4 stars!
Pros:
1.Nice to see this character with some decent articulation!
2.This will be a nice base figure for many sexy, scantilly clad female customs (Of which I'm sure we will see a BUTTload of! I just bought several spare loose ones off of ebay myself!).
3.Many customizers will remove the chest armour with great anticipation if not false hope!
Cons:
1.Face looks pretty cartoonish, and when did Sara's left ear get surgically removed?
2.Could have used a little more articulation (shoulders, wrists, maybe the fingers?).

RIPCLAW-3.75 stars
Pros:
1.Nice to see this character with some decent articulation as well!
2.I love anything with sharp claws or blades!
Cons:
1.Would have liked to have seen a new sculpt instead of the "Black Panther" body style.
2.Paint job is a little shoddy, not very cleanly done. There are smudges in places and paint rub on shoulder articulation (On the one I got at least).
3.The plain gray plastic belt looks like a piece of plain gray plastic. (could have used some highlights or shading or something like that).

THE SAVAGE DRAGON-4 stars
Pros:
1.Another faithful adaptation. Looks exactly like Eric Larsen would portray him.
2.OMG! ARTICULATED FINGER AND THUMB JOINTS!
Cons:
1.Never really cared for this character.

MADMAN-2.75 stars
Pros:
1.Great for the Madman fans!
2.Plastic ray gun accessory!
3.Great base figure for those not-so-muscular-ordinary-average-guy characters.
4.I'm thinking of making a custom figure out of it for Malcolm McDowell's role in "A CLOCKWORK ORANGE"
5.Comes with Timmy (although there is no articulation on him).
Cons:
1.Never was a Madman fan.
2.If you are not a Madman fan, this is a pretty dull looking figure.
3.Comes with Timmy (did I mention he has absolutely no articulation?).

PITT...OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!-There ain't enough stars for this one!
Pros:
1.It's about freakin' time Pitt got his own figure! (He used to be a comic book hero, right? You know, Dale Keown had a run of about 10 whole entire Pitt comic books which took like 10 years to do.)
2.I love the scale of this figure! I love the scale of this figure! I LOVE THE SCALE OF THIS FIGURE!
3.HOLY CRAP, there it is again! Articulated finger joints!
4.Dead-on likeness! Great sculpt on the old Creed hybrid!
5.Very sharp paint job!
Cons:
1.Would have liked to have had an articulated jaw, or at least an extra, interchangeable head with a gaping maw.
2.Dale Keown had a run of about 10 whole entire Pitt comic books which took like 10 years to do. As a comic, this character was very well drawn and had great potential, but I lost interest in collecting Pitt because if I remember, the whole plot kind of got convoluted and by the time a new issue came out, I had to go back and re-read the previous ones to remember what the heck was going on. I ended up giving all my Pitt stuff away.
3.You have to buy all six figures of the series to build Pitt wether you like them all or not (although ebay has some loose Pitt parts listed).

SUPERPATRIOT-2.75 stars
Pros:
1.Now I have a complete Pitt!
2.Nice gear belt for some future custom.
3.Great addition for hardcore Savage Dragon fans.
Cons:
1.Although I think the concept of Superpatriot is kind of cool, I hate his design.

TIMMY-No stars given for this one.
Pros:
1.Pitt doesn't have to stand on the shelf by himelf.
2.Great fodder parts (once they are severed) for customs of little children.
Cons:
1.Pitt would look better on the shelf by himself.
2.Would it have killed Marvel Toys to have put in even minimal articulation? The pose makes him look like he didn't make it to the boy's room.

I got the whole first wave today including Savage Dragon and Super Patriot varients and also Judge Death and his Clear Varient. I found them at Wal-Mart on the end caps, they had tons of them! But I'm sure when I go back tomorrow they'll be pretty much gone! I think they are freaking sweet, and the Pitt is one of the best BAF to date!

the end cap are located that the end of the aisles of the store. Like there is a section of toys on the pegs and if you go all the back or all the way to the front you will find "end caps"
