Grabbed an Azrael/Batgirl two pack today, Azrael's very nice. The pics do show him with the bright gold pieces, but the figure has much darker paint apps, very nicely applied too. Batgirl though...I dunno what they did to that poor figures's paint...on all of the grey areas she's got VERY noticble brush strokes on her, including going over the bat symbol. Everything else is top notch, and since this one's for use in a custom it doesn't bother me too much, but...ugh?
This is why I hesitate to even buy DCUC. I can hardly find any DCUC here anymore, and this quality is getting worse. Stuck joints, switched up limbs, and now warping.
what happened with your abin sur's hip is the same thing that happened with my first GL. pity, even after the 50th time of someone complaining about mattel's crappy toys, it still makes me feel bad
Lightray was the best of the bunch (which is good since he was the one I wanted most). His right hip / leg swivel was funky. Not stuck but "mushy" for lack of a better term. I tried the freezer trick to see if it would help to and his leg just tore off. Now I gotta crack his crotch to fix him.
Orion is seriously f'd up. His legs as you can see have been terribly warped by the packaging. His waist & right hip are frozen as well.
Abin Sur's left knee peg was not in and the inside peg hole warped from it. Not too terrible. The biggie was that his left leg / hip swivel was also stuck and not set correctly.
Hal's lower legs were both seriously warped and curved outward. The picture below is him standing "straight" Both of his leg / hip swivels were stuck too.
I shelled out $44 + tax for this? I returned the GL 2 Pack and opted to keep the New Gods because Lightray had spectacular paint apps and, other than his leg breaking off, all his parts were correct. And since my town isn't that big I know TRU isn't going to get enough of these in for me to cherry pick. I popped Orion's head onto a DCUC 1 Orion that I had in my fodder bin.
Now I'll nervously wait to get my Wave 6 case from CSC and find out what issues that wave has. Hopefully nothing worth griping about.
I just had a new Toys R Us open up by me.
I was there on opening day & there was a empty peg where the 2-pack were supposed to be.
The associate told me they sold out.
Tell me there's no scalping going on with thoses employees.
