DCU C&C Atom Smasher...

Posted in Action Figure Chatter

I saw a few of the Atom Smasher wave figures today @ Toys 'R' Mine and noticed that there are 7 figures needed in this wave to build the Atom Smasher C&C figure but the pieces I saw packaged (arms and legs) did not look any bigger than C&C pieces of past lines...Is Mattel startin' to hoe us like Hasbro did!?...Separating heads from torsos/hands from arms (Blob) or packing weapons seperatley (Ares) pissed me off even though I wasn't out to build these characters, I felt for my brethren...I have always enjoyed the set number of 5 figures to build a C&C figure even though they have never been a selling point for me...Besides, 5 figures per wave has got to be convinient for completests when it comes to cost...Input?...

I finally got my Flash and was very dissapointed to find the that figure stand he comes with is nothing unique that they would need to put it in C&C wave with Atom Smasher...also I opened 2 fresh cases of DCUC figure the other night @ Wal-mart and was hella baffled by the case pack...Older waves were a case of 6, one of each figure and a variant, where as the cases I opened were of 12 as follows...2 Captain Cold, 1 camo Aquaman, 1 Booster Gold, 1 Blue Beetle, 4 repacks with blue bases, 1 Dr. Impossible, 1 Riddler, and one other I cannot remember...WTF...How are you gonna get all the figures if they are loading cases with Captain Cold, repacks and lame Variants from past lines?...I finally scored a second Barda to keep in package and a variant Barda as well, she is a litttle short but almost as georgeous as the WW from the Despero wave...as a side note, the guy who caught me opening the cases yelled at me to stop digging thru pallets which I ussually do if asked to do so nicley but since he got rude I said something back to him about his mother and I and biblical relations so he called a supervisor who threatened to call the cops and then did so when I refused to put back what I had taken from the cases...I made it to check out and paid for my items but was approached by a uniformed officer upon leaving the store...It took near two hours to sort the whole thing out becasue the stock monkey claimed I had pushed him so I spent form 12:07 am thru 2:01 am either in the back of a squad car or crampped in a small office which reaked of piss soaked matted yak fur reviewing security tapes...needless to say I will be making their lives hell for a while by opening everything in sight...toilet paper, yo-yos, pencils, tampons, you name it...

Yes, Mattel has gotten greedy. It's too bad they can't stick with a simple BAF format with only 5 figures. As it is, it's hard as hell just finding 5 DCUC figures in one wave anyways. I haven't seen Big Barda anywhere. In fact, I haven't seen hardly any of this wave anywhere except for the chance encounter where I found the other 6 figures and snatched them up. Yeah, female figures are a hot commodity these days. I don't know if the toy companies are short-packing them or if they are all just flying off of the shelves. I would venture to guess that most of them end up on the 'bay.
