I'm The bad Guy

Posted in Action Figure Chatter

I guess I will have to be the one to say this. I, and many other people have been on this site for a long time and we share Ideas. We talk about how we make certain figures etc. But up until recently NO one person has attempted to sell anything other than Captain Coder. Now if it is merely a matter of asking CC, and he ok's it then I guess I am out of line here and should be told so. If not then I think every customizer here should be treated equally. I am in no way busting on the powers that be. I would just like to know if the practices I have seen here as of late are acceptable or not.

Well TMB, I purposely don't mention this topic anywhere on the website because I don't want to encourage any selling or trading outside of the site's Figure Shop because of the reason VP mentioned. It's a do it completely at your own risk thing, whether you are buying, selling or trading and Figure Realm is not responsible for any deals that go bad. After all, we have no idea who most of these people are either.

The only rules that are enforced right now is the No Retailer and No Auction links. I delete those as soon as I see them. I don't mind if you guys want to trade or sell a few figures from your personal collection. That's what the Trading Post forum is for. If someone gets carried away and they look like they are starting their own little store, then I would ask them to stop.

Is there something specific you are referring to TMB?

Well, CC says "No Retailer Links" meaning please do not promote competitor's websites on these forums. Trading isn't selling, it's just bartering so that's always good because it helps build trust between everyone, that's why it's allowed, but if someone comes in here blaring in capital letters GO TO MY WEBSITE IT HAS LOTS OF COOL THINGS FOR SALE CHEAPER! then that's bad for business.

Some people have been selling loose figures here but that's okay because Cap doesn't sell loose figs, just MOC. If they are just someone who wants to get rid of a figure then I don't see a problem with it, even if it is MOC, just as long as they don't start dropping other stores' names

That is because Captain Coder runs this site. It is first and foremost his store. The reason we don't sell things here is because if we are give the authority to sell things and the sales cave through some how, people would turn to him for an explanation and their money and he can't give it. It's not easy to sell here, but it can be done in the Trading Post. It's more tedious than an eBay auction or an online store, but it's not making it look like he should be responsible for any losses you incur.
