Have you gotten a great deal or gone on an action figure shopping spree lately? Tell everyone about it here!
I was wandering around Walmart and found all the Sentinel Series figures on sale for 6-7 bucks each, so naturally I bought one of each (except Omega since Mystique has the same Sentinel piece). Obviously I'm going to sell the Sentinel while keeping the figures. The robot sells for 40-50 bucks so I actually make a profit and it's like getting 6 figures for free!
Then I hopped on over to a KB Toys store and found two Shockers for 8 bucks each! I'm not a scalper but I did buy them both to see if I could trade Shocker for something nice later on
Actually I got very little to update: 2 captain lou wrestling figures to redo my custom mario since he fell off a shelf. This time I'm going to cast the parts in resin I think, a set of 3 deloreans, 10 sega cd/genesis games, the japanese headmaster dvd set and the 15 disc g1 box set.
I live here in Tampa, FL, the land of Busch Gardens, a damn fine Hockey team (I know, it's TRULY counter-intuitive), a CRAPPY Pro-football team (also counter-intuitive), a decent baseball team across the Tampa Bay in St. Petersburg, FL the TB Rays, an MLS league soccer team the Rowdies...eh, one year good the next garbage...they are a crap shoot, a Hard Rock Seminole Casino, the best thing about Tampa is it is where my LEGALLY married husband and I can call home now and not have to up roots and move for class equality as equally tax-paying citizens but second class citizens trampled upon by those who sought to subjugate us and say the separate was equal for us...and it houses the first University I ever graduated from with my first BS and MS and soon dual-PhD's, the Great University of Florida in Gainesville only an hour north and last, but so far from least just across on I4, about a 50 minute drive the great, incredible, awesome Walt Disney World (where the hubby and I spend MOST of our time together on date nights...we are true geeks/nerds, me with my 7 BS and MS degrees in things like Biochemistry/Analytical Chemistry, Physics/Math, Molecular Biology/Genetics, Nursing, Immunology, Virology and he also having his BS and MS in Geology and working in the Environmental Engineering sector) and Universal Studios where we are Florida Annual Pass holders at both (Yes, I spend a great deal of time at Islands of Adventure and at Hogwarts...lol. If any of you have every been to the Marvel Section of Islands of Adventure you know how incredible the one merchandise store is, but extremely inflated theme park prices...and now that Disney owns Lucas Arts and Marvel...oh it is so nice!)
But I am posting because everyone keeps posting about KB here, and I am assuming that is KB Toy Stores and I thought that they went out of business? There are none here in my area and we are ALWAYS the LAST to get in Wal-Mart, Target even Toys R Us the new Toys that come out in Marvel Legends or other lines...
It is just so sad to hear everyone talking about KB and I miss them so...lol! And as some of you mentioned...none of the stores around here do any real mark downs either.
Just wondering if anyone knows where the closest KB Toys was to Tampa, FL? I'd consider a quick flight out for a toy haul at a great location for one! I still greatly miss the F.A.O. Schwartz we had in Orlando...but I get to NYC 2x a year at least for that fix...lol.
If only Big Lots would get some of the stuff from Wal-Mart or Target they don't sell. And is anyone else tired of seeing the same 2-3 figures at your stores section of Star Wars the Black Series...Guido, Slave Leia and usually Kenobi...the same 3 here, where ever you go...lol.
Hope everyone is having a great TGIF and plans for a great weekend! Chris
Been a while since I was on so I don't remember my last update: PS4, xbox 1, destiny ghost edition, world of nintento mario playsets, vintage 1991 Mario 3 happymeal figures, normal mario figures, game system dust covers, 72 famicom games and an adapter, gameboy color still in the box, 4 dollar store game systems, 120 universal game cases, some more books on game collecting, Madmax for the NES in its box, outlander for the snes in the box, 2 versions of link to the past in the box (but only 1 complete), a half dozen game manuals from a friend, a gameboy camera, a kupa backpack for my display, a 1980s Pac-man record (that's something music came on in the 80s for you kids) with pictures on them, a bunch of vintage posters for display. I think that's everything since summer. Haven't gotten much lately as xmas left me way in debt.
Been a while since I got any goodies worth reporting but here's a biggie, pleased with the black series but those turtles have just blown me away. It's like I finally have the turtles figures I wanted way back in 1987
Got the NES themed 3Dsxl today via UPS, got a bunch of halo special editions waiting for amazon to ship and a few others and tomorrow my Evil Within copy should be shipping. Also got aliens: isolation.
A large Japanese release mario goomba, a full set of the tiny Mario brothers WII U playsets (I now have both releases of wave 1), and a bowser figure. Also a set of 18 mario mini figures (the ones I had from kmart a while back), plus a set if 1" mario figures, and 2 1989 mario 3 figures from mcdonalds.
I've been stopping at my Walgreens over the last couple weeks and hit the jackpot! I found Venom the first visit and the two Boba's one visit after at least four more. There at least ten agent venoms too!
Came back from Wizard World Chicago and scored quite a few gems! This is a print by Terry Huddleston. You can't tell much by the photo, but it's done in that comic book dot style (the official name escapes me). The 3D covers are for my brother (huge Batman fan) and the Venom issues (all 3) has been a run I've been wanting to read for a while. Found these for great prices Optimus was one I've been wanting a lot. Tracks is also one of my favorite TF's. FINALLY, I GOT TIGERHAWK! I found another grail! I had this as a kid and adored it, metal scratches, missing accessories, other play-wear and all. I'm SO happy I found him ( at at the last few minutes of being there too) and only need to buy a missile. He even had his box and instructions! I was able to talk the seller down a few bucks too!
A week or two later, I went to my game, movie, and music store and found this and Community season 3 for VERY cheap! This has been quite the year for collecting so far!
Picked up these little beauties over the last few weeks to complete my SOTA street fighter collection, one of each character, I'm neither rich enough or crazy enough to collect all the variants
Thanks, I know right! I've been wanting this guy for two years, and finally got lucky and won an ebay auction for nearly the same price as the second release. It's hard to believe that Mew hikes the price so much. It's one of my favorite figures though and is completely worth getting (second or first release).
Yeah, I hear you. I'm looking for some good guns for her now. I do wish she had better articulation too (especially the lack of ab crunch. Her costume design would seamlessly work for one). Her poses can be a bit limited. Aside from that though, I adore this figure. The sculpting and paint are flawless.
YESSSSS! Something told me to go to Kmart today and I FINALLY got her! Also got a Pokemon figure lot (with some zukans included) and a movie Cap, but he has two right calves. So, I'll get a new one at some point. Man, I'm elated that I found her!
Hey yall! Been a while since I lasted posted. Just wanted to share some of my recent finds. Hush re-release of Nightwing, Scareglow, and Ivy. This has always been my favorite Nightwing, based on Jim Lee's legendary run on Batman.
Got a good deal on this X-Men box set
Got lucky at Target and found them
ebay win on these NECA turtles
bunch of loose figures from China-based ebay sellers. Good deals on all of them!
Came back from C2E2. Kind of a so so year. I don't think I'll be going on a Sunday again. Anyway, picked up an upscaled Halo Universe Halo 3 Master Chief (which I must say is pretty disappointing IMO), DC Signature series Starman, some Lantern rings, Mandroid left leg, a few Pokemon cards for my little cousins and a few for myself I found pretty cool, and an ocarina from Songbird Ocarinas I've had my eye on for a few years.
Picked up two of my white whales yesterday. Sagat and Bison for a great price plus two others to add to the ranks of my Streetfighters. Most pleased with them all but Sagat!!! Wow!! probably my new favourite figure
Majority of what I've gotten up to this point since the new year started (minus the huge load of fodder/scene pieces + some other stuff I forgot to photograph).
Metal gear solid 5: ground zeroes which I shoulda got as a download for 10.00 less as it's not good, Final fantasy x/x-2 hd, and all the 3" robotech mechas I could find from the Robotech/exo-squad crossover.
Got a ton of Halo stuff recently! Got the Spirit of Fire Red Team 3 pack, Captain Keyes, Mickey, silver Mark Vi Spartan, steel Security Spartan, and, one of my all time wants, Monitor 343 Guilty Spark and Sentinel!
I forgot to post this earlier, but I got the Dc Collectibles Arkham Origins Deathstroke and yesterday I was surprised to find an MLI Boomerang and Toxin!

I also went to my local game, movie, and music store and found this little gem.
And so ends my spending for a few weeks.
Also picked these up for ten bucks each at Target. Still not sure about opening Crosshairs though.
EDIT: I opened up Crosshairs and he's not as bad as he looks in the package.
Hush re-release of Nightwing, Scareglow, and Ivy. This has always been my favorite Nightwing, based on Jim Lee's legendary run on Batman.
