Need help IDing dc direct Superman

Hi, I just purchased a dc direct showcase series 1 superman figure and it comes with a bunch of heads such as a lions head. Can anyone tell me the origin of these heads from the comics and how they are related to superman?

That was the Showcase Superman figure if I remember right (MIGHT have been all stars but pretty sure it was showcase). My brother got one for a custom.

I believe it was made to swap pieces and be various Supermans form other dimensions that superman met
