Found this guy in a storage box in my basement. I've had him since I was a kid but I never knew where or what he came from. He's about 12 inches tall, and is made up of 3 different pieces, that top part with the head (and what looks like a bigger, mech type head, maybe for a final form?), the drill looking middle and thetank tread/fold together legs.
It's almost certainly some kind of Japanese robot combiner, but, there's so many of those, I couldn't say which. Try giving this thread a browse, maybe something will ring a bell:
