Well the Hitler and the hollow earth not so much, but I did ruffle some feathers in the soapbox often by comparing the America of today with 1939-1941 Germany.

Um the book and author never heard of it until you mentioned it and I Googled it.

No over at the Fwoosh there were a few personality clashes between myself and some other members and one of those members was an admin or mod (Not sure which anymore). I anyway in the end my view on the atmosphere towards me was that if I was gonna get the boot I wanted it to be on my terms by my choosing so I went out in a blaze of glory with my finale post and got the boot. I Tried to keep it all in the soapbox so as to not to trouble any new members and/or faint of heart (for lack of a better term) heck most the general population I think rarely visited the soapbox.

So I may be viewed as a sort of plague or virus, or epidemic, or something by some people over there. As far as I'm concerned it's all water under the bridge but I can't speak for anyone else.

Yeah some of the people over there were really cool, Raybot, SolidSnakeinmyPants, Warrack, and K&L all are very great customizers, there were also some other cool people over there. Just make sure if your trying to convince some of the Fwooshers to come over here don't say that "gearseffect is hanging out here" It could very likely prevent them from ever coming here.
I could very likely still be viewed as a nutcase by many Fwooshers.

Any way I think this site is far more friendly and is much more streamlined, with less unnecessary boards/topics.

Been a registered member at Fwoosh since 2005. All I'll say is this...FigureRealm is better, more friendly, nicer, accpeting of new people better (regardless of skill level). This is pretty much the only place I frequent now. I miss the days when Iron Cow's forum was cracking because it was just like this.

As for GrownNerd - yep - no doubt about it, he's a beast! Would be nice if some of the cooler guys from Fwoosh started posting here. I think it would be refreshing for them!

I totlay agree on all of that. I am workin out tutorials ( I'm not ao good at photo shop? And also I'm making things over and over again till I know I have the best idea on how to explain it. Also trying differed glues ECT.
I would love a comprehensive fit review library.
I also want to end up getting a library of parts type thing? I have been taking photos when I take figs apart for my web site. Kinda lik a blue prit of insides of figs. Cause I have tryed some recipes and found after getting what I thought was the perfect fog it's insides were no match for anything without heavy modification? :/

I wind up using a lot of the resources on this site, but agreed looking up info on those other sites is a bit aggravating. I would like to see more reference material and figure reviews. maybe even get into a list of the most popular customs that a fig is used for. one thing that would help a lot of people are a list of accessories and size comparisons for characters. I know I will be donating when I can get some issues taken care of and this site deserves it for for helping anyone with any issues or questions they may have. and for all people of the realm and just checking in, keep up the great work.

I had mentioned several things I'd like to see more of on here in a previous post and I remembered we did have character profiles like comicvine amd reviews like the froosh! I guess us lazy hippies have just neglected to update most of them! LOL. When I first came to the realm as a guest I used to search customs by character profile, never noticing the search feature on the custom page! I had somehow totally forgotten about the character profile page in the last few years. I would like to semd a thanks out to Ole Jade Jaw for his recent contribution along with everyone else who jas been kind enough to take the time to update the profiles. I just made a small contribution and would like to encourage everyone else to do so when they find the time. If we all did a little we could really improve our site. I know I don't like havimg to search comicvine, marvel wiki, marvel directory, and other sites just for details when I'm doing a custom. Not to mention our reviews and lists of action figures seems to be atleast a year behind.

Eh, those things never work out well unless the sites are already friendly? Also so many of the best guys on bob sites are on both sites? I'm happy with our local contests amongst ouselfs.

I was thinking the same thing! Friendly contest between thefroosh and the realm! We vote on who from our site competes. Up to 10 members maybe. Dual members could choose to be excluded. Winner gets his pick of the top four customs!

Point taken, if any fwoosh members see this and get mad I would understand I guess? and for any fwooshers out their. Your site is good. We just play favorites. But yeah, Let's end this. We all know how we feel and don't want blood in our comfertabule Water. Also,fwooshers come join our cult.

I still wanted to go back and say I did really like his work and I would like to see more talented artists on the realm and forums. is there any way maybe all the sites could do a contest together or have a fig of each site featured to show that we just love customs. Might not work since most sites don't work together like that, but I feel as all people on any site, the more the merrier and helping others.

Hey, please don't get me wrong guys, I know that there's no malice intended and you're all just offering your opinions. Thing is I've seen how this kind of situation plays out before. Someone posts a comment saying "I don't like the Fwoosh because" then one of our dual members sees it and offers there opinion. Before you know it, full on war that we could all do without. The thing is some people often scan through posts and react before actually thinking or fully understanding what the post is saying. Just trying to stop it before it arises.

When honest are called harsh. But the realm is just better maintained and has a friendlier populous , in my opinion.
I go to fwoosh often, and let ms tell you. The members their don't always have the kindest words about us. And I dare say they don't speak with the care we do when contrasting the two.
But yes , many of the people over their are so very talented and I love reading thought their. I just wish it would take a turn for the nicer and more open.and you should blush! This Place rocks!

My intent was also not aimed at Fwoosh bashing. I have been check'n out their WIP pics and articles for years. Their thread is setup to allow WIP's with their posts and they always have recipes! Their articles and reviews are exempelary. I simply pointed out I love the realm and would enjoy seeing some of there members join our site as well. The malice of which you speak was entirely unintentional and I apologize If I was caught up in it. TheFwoosh has it's hiccups and problems just as any site with so many members. We recently had an incident here at the realm maybe even a lil more extreme than the ones I was refering to at the Fwoosh and my biggest peeve there was one of our dual members.

yeah I am all about realm love, but I think the main part about this is we would like to extend out invitation to other sites. This site tends to get more newbies and helping them is the greatest accomplishment of this site (along with being user friendly). I just hope we see more people of the realm and the forums, most showcase people never venture past that, I know because I was one of them.

I was actually not trying to bash. I made an attempt to register, couldn't, wasn't able to view any pictures, and have not had my inquiry responded to. I bungled my way through the forums for a bit and was just sharing my short experience. Most of the posts I saw were form years ago. Believe me, there was no intended malice. I was just interested in seeing more customizing stuff that I could learn from.

I recently saw those Fear Itself customs. Epic! I found myself wishing he would post here. Wonder if he knows he would be more than welcome? As the others have said, I found Fwoosh very user unfriendly, and the posters seemed aggressive, confrontationalI and elitist. They seem to lean towards the really talented and scoff at the beginners and less gifted. I just read a post from 2006 by Kyle Robinson when he was kinda new. He posted a tutorial, and the forum exploded with more or less "shut up new guy, who do you think you are posting tutorials for beginners? We don't need or want those!" Pretty sure if I started over there, I wouldn't be almost a year in now. I I realize this is supposed to be about GrownNerd, I just wanted to chime in on my comfort here in the realm.

I checked out the site and my computer did not like the format as much, took forever to load. I loved the work and have once in a blue moon check in on some sites, but never felt as user friendly as the realm. it took me forever to learn signing in, before the format change, there were more features, pics, links, etc. loved it and understand why they had to change it, it was not fair to the contributing to the site. what I feel makes this the best site is that there are seperate areas you can go an explore, so if you are not a customizer you still have options. and for beginners this and a few other sites for tutorials are great, but never enjoyed any site like this. us hippie spartans will dine in hell lol.

Yeah, fwoosh...has things like you have to pay? I like the contribute I don't have the cash but once I have excess money I am making a donation. Fwoosh also leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. And I also think some over their seem...well rude.
I will go out on a limb here, I love this page. And we have lots of talented people! And lots of enthusiastic people! And lots of supportive people, and some times the enthusiastic people arn't on the same level as the talented people...
But what makes this site so rad? Is that no one says stop customizing. It's all positive. And all about doing what you love! And learning and sharif and yes , maybe we are a bit like a 2+2=6 hippy commun.
But, I hate when someone who is just starting gets rude comments on other sites? I'm likel for real?
Be nice, help people! Teach don't be a jerk! I like it here, pro customizers to.
But I love here above all. We are like a bunch of boring, lazy, nerdy Spartans!

He is good. I have issues with "thefoosh". I dislike their formate layout and just the site generally.
Also posting their can be complicated? And at times it seems like a ghost town?
I also just love it here.
But he is rad. And would love to see him Cross over even if he just posted here as well.
