Custom WorkstationWhat's everyone, I was looking over all the other great W.I.P customs that are posted here and thought I should share some of mine.
This is Shot from Batman:Under the RedHood, the base figure was some movie concept IronMan figure and the rest was sculpted
This one is Metallo 3.75 inches,
Both figures are posted.
This is my current project, Red Lantern Bane
I started to add the new flesh tone

here is a basic breakdown on how I do the red paint for my Red Lantern Corps...these are the paints I use and the base figures
I mix a ratio of 60/40 mythril silver/choas black to get a darker metallic finish, this will be the base coat for the areas being painted red
the next step is to drybrush mythril silver over the darker metallic and that will give your detail and definition in the figures areas that will recieve the red, I do this because I find the darker metallic base coat gives a better finish with the silver giving it more of a shine plus detail instead of flat black, don't worry about going over the lines they get cleaned up after
once dry it will be time to clean up the lines with chaos black, for the gauntlets I painted them silver without any drybrushing and this will give a different look than the rest of the suit when painted with the clear red, this is also where I sculpt on the circle piece for his logo as well as start the first coat of red
In this pic the logo has been started and the second coat of red paint is on the mask...to see the finished figure please check out my work he is posted and I hope this helps
these are some Lantern contstructs, 1 has already appeared with my Red Lantern Joker, the other 1 that is similar is for a Yellow Lantern I`m working on...they were made from the 4 inch movie Frost Giants Ice construct painted with clear red and yellow
This red construct will be for my next Red Lantern member, it was made from a MU Blast effect painted in clear red and I added a clear skull just to give it something a lttle extra also painted clear red
Thanks CFC, I hear ya! and the goggles were right beside me to.......that's what I get (Karma) there starting to feel better and my wife had to keep waking me up to make sure my eyes would still open
as for the custom I was working on..Karma struck twice cause his arm fell off this morning and I had to completly dismantle the fig and reconstruct his arm
was working on another custom last night and had an accident, the crazy glue bottle's tip kind of exploded (can't really explain cause I'm still not sure how) and the glue shot up into both my eyes hitting my eyeballs (literally)
I could actually feel the glue dry under my eyelids, my left eye had a small ball of glue and the right ended up with 2, the hospital said that they would eventually come out on there own.
always remember: SAFETY FIRST
I started off with a black base coat
next I started to add the new skin tone on the legs
after that I added his new teeth
and then the new skin tone to face/arms and hair
This is where all the magic happens
These are some of the paints I use
Here is the progress of my DCU Mini Batman and Doomsday, Batman's lower arms will be a cut and paste job and Doomsday needed a complete overhaul of parts
This will be Mr.Freeze based off of his Arkham City look as well as Robin
My Flash will be different in the sense that I'm not using your typical base that most would think to use for him but I saw something in the figure I chose and hope others like yourself will agree with my choice...my set will now consist of 26 figs.
Thanks buddy, I think I'm gonna try the metallic yellow and see how that looks.
which should I go with ?
Wasn't sure if I could do this (had to check rules again) but here is the links to the completed versions of the first to W.I.P's on page 1.
here is Metallo

Here is some more customs I am working on, I know it seems like a lot but I actually have a list of customs that I am working on and I check them off as I finish, I think the list is just under 50 figures
This is going to be one of the Exiles Morph figures I'm working on, the first pic is so you can see where I got my reference from, I will be resculpting the head completley so ingnore the mangled one that you see
This is my SpiderMan in Spider Armor, not much to it, just those pesky little webs
And this will be my Blazing Skull
Bit great work man, and thanks for enlightening me.
I have a storm shadow and snake eyes I need to finish in that scale.
I'll be working on finishing Brainiac's head today, I work the graveyard shift so I don't get much time to customize as I would like.
The neck piece is from some little dark knight Batman figure (non-poseable) but I was able to dismantle and salvage a few usefull things like the neck piece, but it wasn't so easy to get it to fit on the Marvel Universe figure..that was a little tricky.
Excited about the braniac! Keep it comin' brosef!
Also, what neck is that on the bats?
Since he's almost done I'll show you a couple more that I'm working on.
This will be for my DCU Mini Brainiac, it is his chest piece (the Duke figure is just a dummy figure I use when painting pieces like this or heads)
This is the uppper torso of the Brainiac
Here is Batman, ignore the lower arms cause I'll be switching them out to something a little different
This is his new neck piece
here is the back with the head on
@Darththomas81: I actually bought them like that, the company is called Copco.
here is a link, the one they show is different then the 2 I have but they are pretty much the same
http://www.amazon.com/Copco-2555-9224-N ... 68&sr=1-28
@Darththomas81..glad you like them, the stands are made of a hard plastic and the little areas where the figures will stand are made of a rubbery material, kinda like that stuff you put on the bottom of a bathtub so you don't slip
this one is unpainted
I started to paint the second one, this one is for Superman and his villains the other is for Batman/villains
it's only had a single coat but you get the idea
here they are together with a few incomplete DCU Mini's..each one will have 9 figures
This is a Deadpool I'm working on.."I know, I know...another Deadpool for the realm
This one is a ? Lantern Darkseid that I'm also working on, I use a light grey over the black primer for the area's that will be painted with a lighter color, the grey makes it easier (better than white paint) instead of just painting a lighter color over black
I always clean up the lines after when I'm happy with the outcome of the costume/outfits design.
