An Actual Reason to Watch the Rose Parade

George Lucas is the Grand Marshal of the parade this year, which airs on New Year's Day. As part of the 30th anniversary celebration of the release of Star Wars, there will be two floats, and, yes, 200 stormtroopers marching in the parade!
