I got a few projects that im working on , so I made this thread to show my work as I go along and to get some feedback
first up I got a red hood head I've been working on, this was my 1st ever time sculpting so I think it turned out pretty well.
and here is a Member of the court of owls from Batman, I used a star man head and it worked out great cause he had a goggle strap sculpted into the back of the head, so it looks like its connected to the mask now
I always prefered the predators to look more tribal/ primitive so I thought up this way to make a spear. I cut the tip off a brood queen leg , painted it black with silver dry brush . I think it caught that xenomorph look. the staff was a thin dowel that I covered in milliput
the citidel brown paint wouldn't stay on very well so I finally went with testors black
I hate to admit it..but I negletcted this thread but I have finished a deathstroke and green goblin figure since then ( which can be found in the showcase) I just wish I took the time to do some WIP pics of them along the way
anyways heres my next little project..
a bothan jedi , im using parts from 3 figures ( anakin, Borsk Fey'lya and Voolvif Monn )I found the voolvif figure at a flea market and while it was missing the head I knew id use it for something sooner or later and it prooved to be just perfect for this, the anakin figure was from the ROTS toy line and it was slightly out of human scale compared to other star wars figures but I think it works great with the larger torso
I just need to get some paints to finish it up. I plan on painting the hair brown and doing some black dry brush and painting the armour bits white. and maybe a hand swap..im not sure yet
Looks Fantastic. One thing though. It looks a little to flat on the top unless that what you are aiming for then its Great :-). Are you going to add lines to the mask or keep it straight Red?
I do some wood working and usualy cut my hands or bust my knuckles on just about everything I do :P but so far I havent relly been injured working on figures
So funny, I just got that grey Hulk and the same use occurred to me. This will go nicely with your other awesome Batman pieces. Can't wait to see him finished Abe!
that death stroke looked awesome when finished. I recognized the base but had to looked hard for a moment cause the base sucked. amazing what a head swap and some new paint will do!
happy halloween! while im sitting around watching old monster movies I thought that it would be a good time to catch up on my WIPS
im still looking for parts for my red hood..but the talon is just about done ( I still want to add some type of knife harness)
in the mean time I wanted to do a deathstroke that fits in with the Chris nolan batman movies, and because im super hyped about him being in the next episode of Arrow.
its a pretty easy custom..I used an avatar movie masters figure .the vest and pants were blue/green camo and the under shirt was green so I repainted them in black and grey and I sculpted the head/helmet.I gotta pick up the paint I need for his helmet tommorow. I also had to mod some hands from another movie masters figure to fit.
I never found any dcuc hands so I ended up using the extra hands that came with war machine. I also added th sash thing from a LOTR figue. and decided to paint the gloves and boots black
the citidel brown paint wouldn't stay on very well so I finally went with testors black
the white paint on the armour didn't work out very well so I had to go back and redo it in black
