They weren't that hard to find, really. Some areas of the US got more than others, just like some regions of Europe got more than others. If you were on the East Coast, you had almost no trouble finding a plethora of TLW Series 2s...many of them choking the shelves.
In Germany, particularly to the southern regions, they were also very easy to locate.
I'm not sure... Some say only a handful were released in stores, but I know that there were quite a few released in my local Wal-Mart. Actually, they were in stock just as much as the first series. I never really thought about getting any at that time, but now I wish I because they seem to be in quite high demand around most websites and online stores like eBay.
