Time to hang some heroes!

Posted in Action Figure Chatter

Seems sad that my winged and flight-enabled figures should be grounded instead of flying around so I bought some thin fishing-line, time to go nuts! Besides, I'm running out of shelf-space!

The only problem I have is that I don't know how to keep the figures from spinning around in mid-air. I want them to face a certain direction but they keep twirling around with the slightest breeze. I know I can archor the figure at two points to solve this but then the ceiling and walls are going to look ugly with all those thumbtacks holding the fishing-line

Any other relatively simple solutions?

All Goblins' feet are already hooked into their gliders, nothing additional required.

Maybe you could hang Goblin and then tie his glider to his feet?

Ok, I'm going to hang the glider first from two anchor-points. Then I'm going to put Gobs on it and use more fishing-line to tie his arms to the lines holding up the glider. That should work!

Now im intrested... normal figures seem easy enough with the loops but unless hes strapped in, ol' Gobbys gonna be doing allot of face plants. Maybe you could put small rubber bands around his feet to hold him to the glider? Maybe even the small plastic twisties that come with figures...

Yup, I looped the line like that on my Hawkgirl custom and she's good now!

How'd you hang the Goblin and the glider? I'm scratching my head figuring out how to put Hobgoblin up there without him falling off the glider every 10 seconds...

I have several figs hanging from fishing line. First off, get clear plastic push pins. They're nearly invisible. Second, the trick to stopping the spin is to hang them from a loop of fishing line rather than from a single thread. Loop one end around under the armpits of the fig and around the back. At the ceiling, the loop comes off the two sides of the pushpin. Angel still spins slightly side to side, I suppose because his wings catch the slight air movement in the room, but he's pretty stable, the spin is only a few degrees each direction and slow. Silver Surfer and Green Goblin have almost no detectable movement. I haven't hung Annihilus yet, but probably will soon.
