Next Custom Figure Contest

Posted in Custom Workstation

So what theme do you'll want for the next custom figure contest? The Conquerors & Monsters Contest will wrap up at the end of the month, and I'd like to turn around and start a new one if you'll are up for it. Preferably something that will generate more entries. Marvel Legends style is probably the most popular.

Sure, but it's not really anime without the giant eyes

Or you can do Anime characters Americanized. I did that with the Link figure and the Jill figure.

I don't know about the anime...

For one thing, you have to either buy one of those expensive anime figures to get only the head with the giant eyes, or you have to sculpt one from scratch...LOL...

Uh oh... more ideas to complicate things

I really like the movie idea, that would be fun! I'm not sure about regulating the scale of the figures though.

Anime is also a good idea, but I must confess I don't know anything about Anime

So we've got three choices now.
* Anything 80's Style
* Movie Characters
* Anime

I was thinking about the next contest and ...maybe we could do a "Your favorite movie" Custom. I was thinking of maybe Captain Quint from "JAWS" Or "Taxi Driver" Travis Bickle...Yes...even Luke Skywalker. I think they should be ML scale. Just an idea.

You guys are nuts

Shinobi has the right idea, do customs of characters in suits they wore in the 80's. If anyone challenges your custom just take a picture of the comic book they were in and be sure to show the date on it.

Either way, I'm out of custom fodder, lol. When I get Rogue I'm DEFINATELY ripping her head off. The head on that recent Lady Deathstrike custom looks awesome for Rogue. I already have the hair for her too

You could but if these types of character are allowed then they should have some type of definative effect that links them to the 80's. ei storm 80's costume with the mohawk and punk look would count but just a storm wouldn't. or something to that effect.

LOL... I sure hope we don't ever see one of those!

I like the 80s theme idea. That sounds pretty good. It might be kinda hard to judge if the character really fits into the era or not though. Any ideas on that? Couldn't you consider just about any Marvel or DC Hero an 80's character?
