I don't know about most of you guys, but the old-school way for decals that I remember is to print off the photo on paper, cut it out and then use a 50/50 mixture of white school glue and water (mixed in to a paste) and paint on the print-out. After it dries a little bit, paint over it with the water/glue mixture and it's on there smooth and clear.
You just spray the label before applying it to the figure. Then use water to loosen and attache to the fig. After the label has dried and adhered to the figure you freely use top coats on it without the label or fig being harmed. The STARS logos on my Jill custom are all testors labels.
Thank Shin, but I read to use the special coating or something to protect the decal and ink from bleeding and stuff....like a sealer. If I spray that on a figure with paint, would the paint come off? Thanks!
Gee Jay - yeah man, give it a go. I was really paranoid the first time I tried it, but it is so much easier than you think. Good luck with it.
