Anyway....getting back to your custom, I have a few ideas on the body, The Anime face wouldn't be that difficult to sculpt and the hair wouldn't be that bad either. I don't want to commit to a price on the posts...Just think its wrong. So Email me and we'll discuss a time frame and a cost. I'll give ya deal for being a Figurerealmer-er.
The resident pyschopath of the anime Full Metal Alchemist, Envy, is the custom figure im after. A company released a way of FMA figures before but they were more statues then figures with little to no articulation and ran for a hefty price. I don't know how difficult he'd(yes its a he lol) be to make, I just know at this point and time I wouldn't be able to sculpt the hair to a point id be happy with it. That and trying to find a decent body seem to be the worst part since he doesn't have a real bulky body...
Soon as I get a good picture Ill post it and see how much the price goes
Im currently working on a version of him right now thats about 80% done. The only difference between him and the one im making is a dark blue body suit with black armor, a black helmet with red trim and no jet pack. I just need to make the guantlets, attach the head on and then paint it all and im done
It can't be that much, it'll cost you what, a little putty, some stuff you have lying around, and some figure parts? Heck you could do an entire figure with only Sculpey if yer good enough xD But if it's something intricate that has to be done, I can see why it would cost more...
I would like this sentence engraved on his forehead in letters half a millimeter tall, please LOL
OKay, can't exactly give an exact price or even an estimate without knowing what the job is and figuring out what figure I'd need for it and how much work I'd need to do.
I think for TMB and the others gettin a lot of comissions, it just happens automatically....it's like a gift for attracting customers....^_^ wish I had it....hehe
How much would a comission for a six inch figure,no fodder sent go for? I ask because I have a custom in mind that I don't think would turn out well if I tried it
I had a guy in the military contact me because he saw some of my work on Ebay, He sends me custom fodder and I do the work for him. He Pays me well on top of all the figures he sends. He has sent a lot of figures to me. Its actually working out very well. So in answer to your question, I think your work speaks for itself in these matters. As far as sending cards or flyers, I have spoken to people that feel that is too in your face advertising for them.
Always a good idea to drop some customs off at the comic shop for promotion. Theyt display it and people start asking where it came from and VIOLA! You have yourself a customer or at the very least word-of-mouth adevertising :P
My "local" comic stores are...interesting. One usually has loose and/or figures missing limbs everywhere. Theyve got a pretty good comic selection though and allot of older figures that could be used to make some decent customs.
Lol.... all the comicbook merchandise is rare in the UK and is SO DAMN EXPENSIVE! But we do have a lot of the shockers, they're always in ASDA (owned by WalMart) but im gettin loads of MLs for xm,as
Wish I had a "local" comic shop. The closest comic shop to me is 35 minutes away on bad roads and the store sucks now and pretty much only sells manga to fat little kids.
Sorry VP I beat ya there. I always give a flyer with all of my auction promoting. I had 2 people interested in various Emercency Alternators but in the end none of them ever got back tome. I'm thinking about dropping some stuff off at my local comic shops, and even putting some of my work on display for examples.
I know, he was offering me $80, plus he was going to buy the figures and pay for all the shipping! Then he was gone. I hope he didn't die or something, then I'd feel slightly bad.
I've gotten 2 comission request and I was too busy to do one and the other guy stopped responding to me after he told me he'd get the base figures sent to me.
I just got some business card paper and printed some cards to go in with my sales from eBay to let my buyers know I'm serious and not just some kid making toys. Even though I guess I am just some kid making toys.
Well, I don't promote myself at all, because I don't do comissions, and I occasionally get a comission request. I can only imagine how many requests the rest of you get with so many of your fancy customs on display xD
You should submit it to the customs gallery, hes KICK@ss!!!

You can send me a PM or ill send out an email and we can discuss cost
You don't have to sculpt the hair, you could use other stuff like foam or wire to simulate it.

I guess for a veteran it wouldn't be a hard figure, I just can't sculpt to well yet

If someone wanted a comission and they offered to buy all the figures and pay the shipping then I would go for it, lol.
