Paint rub on joints, how can I prevent it?

Posted in Custom Workstation

Hey guys, I just got a question about paint rub on joints... I'm no newbie to customizing, but I usually work with older style figures. I'll be doing a piece with a Jakks WWE wrestler body (simplified version of the Marvel Legends figures) and I'm really worried about the paint rubbing off the elbow, shoulder and finger/hand joints.

So, how can I prevent this? I heard using super glue works, or even just a sealer? Would it be better if I used an airbrush, or it doesn't matter?

If anyone could help me out or point me in the right direction I would really appreciate. Thanks guys.

Thanks a lot guys, that's really great information to have. There's always something to be learned out there.

Thanks again to both of you!

Glue works, it's just that people need to do it a few times before they get a feel for how much to use, how long to let it sit, how much area to cover., and so on and so forth. Use the glue but practice on some junk figures first.

Check out Jin Saotome's web site he's got a good ant-joint rub tutorial on it. http://www.jinsaotomesdangeroustoys.com/
