Diorama-rama

Posted in Custom Workstation

Okay, I have plans on doing a couple of dioramas and other than stuff I made in a shoe box when I was 10 and a pretty wicked Civil War battle map I did in high school, I don't have any experience with doing these. I've seen some stuff on "other" sites about using foam core board, but I heard it bend after awhile. I've also seen some stuff carved out of some type of styrofoam. If someone (s) could please post some links for me to tutorials that are good and recommend some building materials. I need something for brick (I assume I can use doll house stuff) and I need something to carve to make cobblestone walls.

Any and all input is appreciated.

passiondesigns revealed to me that the blue insulation foam you'd get at Lowes work for carving out rockwalls and brick walls. Just draw the design and then use a soldering iron or hot melt gun tip to melt it out.
